I think the most likely outcome of registration is risk weighted arms management - ie: folks who have a "collection" of firearms, or of a style/calibre with no great civilian use, will be subject to additional scrutiny. The rest of us who have a normal rifle, or two or three, in our safe will probably see no great change.
