I'm keen to find out what ppl use for working on thier rifles.
Quality brand tools you recommend.
Specialised tools.
Cleaning equipment.
Lathes, printers, tolerances, dimensions, (I personally haven't used a lathe or milling machine in 30 odd years since helping a die maker with a few dies and are totally out of touch with what's around)
Home made tools that make the job easier.
Pics of machine projects and parts made, dimensions.
Techniques for things, polishing, bedding, lapping, etc.
Big, small, something that was just dam interesting.
How's is it being done in nz?

I've just got an odd bunch of tools, best Allen keys I have is Facom brand (think they are French)

Further from my post about a compression tool for working on springers I found this yesterday that others may be interested in.

I'm guessing that's wood, but looks like the parts could be printed pretty easily too.

Low cost set of Tee handle Hex keys, very rare for me to use the keys supplied with OEM purchase.
Tee handles much easier for older fingers.

These or a quality hex wrench set with the ball ends unlikely to scratch or damage your equipment.
The bottom 3 do most jobs, thumb and finger all the effort required.

I have the same set Mercs.

I have a tool shed minilathe. I have taught myself a few skills to get by. But love doing stuff on this. Setting it up to cut well is a job in itself, but fortunately there is a heap of info about. I'm able to make a few of the easier parts for my guns and it makes you appreciate how tighter tolerances maketh quality in all concepts of life.

Sweet toy.
Do you have a 4jaw chuck for it as well. What type of cutting tools do you use?
I see you got a digital vernier, and metal that it looks like you've turned on the shelf.
Whats been your favourite air rifle part project on it?

No, I want one eventually. I have a small milling vice that I used to make a single shot loader for an S200 out of delrin. That was cool, but My favourite thing would be carbon fibre drone arms, (silencers), and it's very satisfying making a functioning part such as these crosman extended probes.

I mainly use 2 HSS turning tools, one parting blade and have a carbide boring bar.

I used one of your focus wheels for ages, and the adjustable hook too.

Those bolts with extended probes work well Pauly.
Got rid of the issue I had of the pellets grabbing as I pushed the bolt in. Obviously seats them better.
Way superior quality to the stock ones on crosman.
Bolt handel better design too.
Looking forward to the next two.
362 will benifit from it.
Noticed a few differnt designs at probe base, do you do them with the standard tool or you got some differnt shaped tips.? What is the tolerance you allow for a pellet skirt thickness, I imagine they could cause issues with varing thickness.

I can only guess that from your tool list Nunga, that you died and gone to heaven and are in fact communicating from the after life. 😁

Those Allen keys look the part I'll have to get some.
I got these for scope installation as I was finding the star drive screw drivers a pain in arse for slippage and breaking.
No regrets. Fit better. Way easier to tighten lossen. 1/4 inch drive so not bulky to use. Work well with just extension for initial tighting.

Can anyone give me the brand of a fat tipped flathead screw driver. The crosman screws have a rediculously fat slot compared to width.

That is highly sensitive intellectual property. Also called artistic license. Wink

Lol only as sensitive as my vernier 😛
I imagine that you could make a pellet specific flar on the end for seating the skirt, but it would have to be hollow between pin and skirt flair or some way of backing the bolt off the pellet for gas flow.
