The pellets move around a lot. FPS in the 177 are 860FPS.. Might switch to .22 as they are more stable and my gas rammed crosman with my piston and trigger mods is spitting out the 14gr pellets @ 760fps so i might get some good long range shots in.

Sounds like a goer.
That extra 100 fps, over what mine has, will hopefully give the .22 that extra range to push out past what mine will do. Im hoping I can make 170m before power drops too much. Anything over that I'm going from totally stoked to over the moon.
Be interesting to see how much more penitration you get, out where mine is starting lose it.

165m not a go for me.
I've ended up min zoom being 6x, holding above the target. Nearly 3 mildot above the bottom of retical glass. I've shot groups (for lack of a better word) nothing that would hint at consistent placement. Nothing grouping within 6inches of each other mostly around 12inch plus.
Closest shot was about 3inchs high and center but that was the exception not the rule.
Fully rested, no wind to very light breeze.
Pellets not sorted so will sort them and may try again another day.
Never found as many cardboard hits as I heard! Though most punched through some only marked cardboard and there were times I'd count the hits and couldn't find them at all. All shots marked before next group.
So somewhere between last distance 157m and 165m I'm guessing the pellets start to slow enough to start misbehaving. My shooting could have been crap today but it felt good. Still bit of fun. For now I'm sitting at 156.9m and happy about getting that far.😊
Timed the pellet after I decided to stop.
Gun stock on bag, hit stopwatch as pulled trigger. Stopped as soon as heard impact.
Subtrack what you will for reaction time but it is still a long time in air.
14.66gr pellet
159fps
165m

Chair gun recons at target 475fps/3.5fpe approximately.

The new and improved 165m backdrop with extended drop points, stick with marks.
Maybe with better fixed aim points maybe able to squeeze a bit more out of 97.
