So, you are allowed only 1 air rifle (I know, I know, I know;  so unfair) and it has to be gas piston, not spring and it also  has to be .22.
It is for hunting small game and pottering away at targets, plus, of course , being air, general fun plinking.
What is it and why?

Diana ar8. Accurate. Well made. Comfortable. Not to heavy, carried it around from 2.30pm to 7.45pm tonight and still wasn't an issue. Can leave it cocked or decock it. Plenty enough power to drop a young goat. Easy to load in dark.
Having said all that only second gas ram i have had.

Actually I'm investigating one of those locally today, so I may have more news on that by early next week.
Or I might wait for Kruzaroad to buy one, tune it, and flick it to me later, preferably for half what he pays for it.Big smile
I'll keep you all posted.

You must, surely, be getting bored with it by now!
How much?

Yep, the idea of that power in a single shot with fixed iron sights is encouraging, especially given the cost.
But i'll have to wait for KiwiTR6's screw sets to arrive for my Gamos before I purchased another.  The CAT trigger is acceptable, but, after using the 97 for a while now, it's like comparing a Ferrari to a Massey Ferguson.

Not a gun I'll get bored with. Espially with the ability to stalk young goats. Even if i never manage to shoot another, still gets me out during the day when don't feel like evening and night shooting.

Well I got a message that the HW90 might not be available for long so cut my fishing trip short and headed back and yep, HW90 is in the safe.
Prettiest piece of wood that I've ever seen on an air rifle.  Tiger stripe beech.
Swapped a couple of scopes around and now the 97 has way more load space with the shorter Sightmark 2.5 - 15 X 50 and the scope that was on the 97 now adorns the previously un adorned 90.
Just the small matter of a munted breech seal, which will fortunately be fixed tomorrow via the included spare set that came in the original box and packaging with the rifle.
Then I'll take the stock off and clean it up as it seems it still has the original grease etc around the joints.
More fun to follow.
Got the 97 sighted in roughly at 20 metres so I'll fine tune that tomorrow.
All fun and games.

Met a guy that has a few air rifles.   200, actually.
He has a few more for sale.
Is there anything in particular that you're after?
And, yep I'll keep you all posted.  It needs some work, mostly from not having been used.
I'll start that process today with a clean and seals.
Did fire it.  Beautiful trigger, probably the equal of the non polished Rekords.

You're a lucky man Ashman!!!  Smile

That's so cool getting an HW90 like that!!!  What a classic keeper that will be!

I'd also love an HW80 .22 if he happens to have one for sale - but funds are low at present due to the current Cost of Living.

I'm so pleased for you.... I don't think there are many HW90's in NZ?  They're such a good looking rifle too eh?!  My guess is they'll be very rare in 10 years time so you've bought at the perfect time....

Dying to hear your thoughts after shooting it for a while..... if you can talk with such a wide smile on your face!!!  LOL

It's a thing of rare beauty.  The wood on it is sensational.   Not for long though;  it will get used and in the scrub country it's destined for, it'll get looked after but not pampered.  There will be a time when it has more character than gloss.
To get one still in the box, with the spare seals, the owners manual and even the Weihrauch trigger hanger advert is pretty special.
And I guess i do have the Gamo and the 97 Blackline , the latter beautifully worn in, the real rough stuff might get visited more often by by the synthetics.  Who knows?  Time will tell.
Very excited by the process of wotking out the issues and remedying them.   All part of the process.
