Right I just started on the Butt hooks for brett and myself.

I wanted to get some 25x25mm square bar but it was a bit expensive and you had to get it in 5meter lots so i decided to make it out of 30mm round after all i have a bit of this in the workshop anyway.

So first step is to mill the round bar square.

I decided to leave the forth corner for later as it would be easier to drill in the next step.

After the hole is drilled it is time to mill the top off.

Next mill the corners

Next i use my belt sander to clean it up.

So this is what i am up to so far. It is tea time and i will do some more tonight.

Ok did some more to it. I kind of mucked up on the drawing i did so this first one will be for the TX and i will give the next one to brett and co.

Anyway. Milled the sections out for the brackets to go.

Next machine up the shaft so i can tilt the hook.

As you can see this will give me the ability to tilt the hook left and right. I have got it sitting on the mounting plate blank which i will. mill slots into the end of the plate which will let me have further adjustments. I will then be able to adjust clock-wise and anti clock-wise as well

Next i will mill slots to take the cap screws which will secure the brackets.

So this is what it looks like so far. Time for a beer. Will do some more on it tomorrow.

Some more pictures of the build for yous to look at.

Made the mounting plate and made both the hooks as well

So this is what it looks like now with all the parts laid out on the table, hopefully tomorrow night it will be all together on the TX.

Just stick some old yoga mat to the contact faces, drill the sliding rail and you're away laughing!

Also if you are able to set it up so that the heighing on the rail is easily adjustable you will find that useful for incline/decline shots.
