There are a lot of Weihrauch HW95’s currently on trade me 😳😳😳
I wonder why? Is the HW95 a powerful springer? |

I noticed that too. I don't think they are a powerhouse, but a good one to have.

The HW95 is a good mid power springer. They arent a powerhouse but solid, reliable, not too heavy, full power rifle. The HW80 is the powerhouse but noticably heavier and at 20 footpound has a good kick - the HW95 am easier rifle to shoot. Probably around 16 footpound, still plenty for rabbits, possums, birds at normal range.

I love Weihrauchs, and I would love a 95 or an 80.
When ever I see one for sale on trademe I get itchy fingers… But every time I think I’m going to bid on a breakbarrel, something in side me says “No, it’s not an under lever!” Can’t seem to convince my self that break barrels can be accurate too, even though I know it’s a Weihrauch. Seems my heart is set on getting another HW100T. 🥰 I also wouldn’t mind one of those gorgeous HW97TK’s 🤔 |

There is also a very interesting HW57 on trade me at the moment.
It is apparently one of the lesser known Weihrauch models, not a flagship or top of the line, but still an underlever and still a Weihrauch 🤔🤔🤔 Did a little research and this one is an older model, not the latest model. There also seems to be mixed feelings about the pop up breach, although no one has said that it is bad or that it is a fault on the rifle. Hummm…. |

The HW57 is an odd one.. Its a small rifle, similar size to HW30 or 50. We had a club member who bought one when he was a junior - because its an underlever and Weihrauch, but it was quote problematic - I think the pop up breech o rings may have kept dislodging. I think I recall a broken spring too, which thinkinmg about it now I wonder if it was related to the breech issues - no resistance is like dry firing which can kill a spring. Modern break barrels have pretty well machined lockups, especially the better brands like weihrauch. youd be hard pushed to proved fixed barrel rifles are any more accurate than break barrels these days.

[/QUOTE] Thanks JS. Hummmm…. 🤔🤔🤔 Sounds like a challenge some where in there 😂 Anyone keen for a breakbarrel vs fixed barrel challenge? Just for fun 😉 Post a pic of your best bench rest group at 30m (or further) stating all your gun/pellet/distance info. In break barrels I hear the Sig is quite impressive, and personally I think the Weihrauchs will shine. In fixed barrels, Weihrauchs, AA’s, Diana’s… I’ll even give my Gamo a whirl 😂. Let’s see if anyone’s keen. If there are a few takers it might be worth starting a new thread for this. Pete. |
