As above.
Mounting a 30mm main tube scope to a Gamo Magnum .22. I'll be leaving the anti shock mount on as that seems to work so far on the scope thats on it. Scope is 2.5 - 15 X 50mm Anybody got anything like that mounted up?

I've used one piece mounts but I prefer two pieces as often you can spread them as far as you can for stablility, I think mounts look weak when bunched up tight on a long scope with so much over hang. 2-15 is a great magnification, what brand is the scope, be awesome in the bush or thick stuff. Im used to 8* minimum for hunting but prefer 1.5-5 for centerfire bush hunting |

Scope is a Sightmark Presidio. Not truly top quality glass, but 2.5 - 15 X 50 and illuminated also, which I like for first and last light and also because my eyes are the same age as the rest of me.
Had a 6 -24 X Sightmark on a .204 that along with the 17hmr was a daily shooter on vineyard pest control and held zero well whilst taking a fair pounding in the ute. The Vortex on the 17HMR didn't fare nearly as well and I had to baby that a litlle. |

And you're right, rimfire, centrefire or air fire spreading out the mounts is simple physics. Shoulda thought of that myself.
That'll allow me to set them up to maximise the recoil reduction rail capabilities.

I prefer one piece mounts on the magnums as high quality rings are more expensive.
Secure stop pin is essential whatever system is used.
Sig Sauer ASP20 with Bushnell 50mm R3 scope using Sports Match Dampa Mount. Estimate 1000 pellets to date with no issues. (Scope has lifetime warranty) ![]() Rear stop block from Gamo rail works well to keep different configuration in place. Gamo rail easily separates at polymer inserts providing a riser and stop block. Full Gamo system including scope, mount and rail. The space between the stop block and rail closes with use and this was confirmed as normal by the NZ Gamo Agent. No explanation on how it can possibly absorb impact was ever provided by Agent or Gamo headquarters. I use the Recoil Reducing Rails for other tasks but never expect them to prevent recoil. |
