Sure makes a difference with parallax adjustable down to 10m.

2.5- 15 mag is bloody good.  2.5 has a very wide field of view and the glass on the Sightmark is pretty damn good.

Took that and Kruzaroads HW(& away fishing and got set up yesterday over the back of the ute with bags.

Final group with the gamo had 10 shots touching at 20m, albeit slightly vertically strung.

Put a few pellets through the HW.   That created a problem.  The Gamo trigger now feels like an agricultural implement, even though it's good enough.

Took about 15 -20 shots to get half a feel of that lovely German and after a few groups that looked promising with the odd flyer, the final group was a very attractive  clover pattern 5 shot beauty.

The wind started at 2pm which cut the session short as it fair whitecapped the lake, so swapped the rifles for an ultralight soft plastic set up and caught 3 fat rainbows between 2.5 and 3.5 lb in a very active 35 minutes, most of which was spent worrying about 4lb tippet and the weed beds, plus the very fiesty fish on the end, which were all in superb condition. Took one for dinner that was an orange fleshed fatty that, as a bonus, was full of ripe roe which I sashimied in soy sauce, lemon and grated fresh ginger with lemon juice and cracked sichuan pepper, alongside which I carved up half a fillet of the flesh.    Cooked the other half in a coconut korma curry with whisked egg.  

Bloody lovely couple of days.

Shout out to Kruzaroad.  Everthing was exactly as described and I couldn't be happier. What an amazing wee piece of engineering!

I've got 2 piece Gamo mounts - without the recoil reducing rail on my Gamo - they are adequate for what I use the gun for.   

Currently my Diana is using a set of 2 piece CV Life mounts I'm not impressed with but have a set of Sports Match mounts on the way from Ron Young.

My Hatsan has a single piece mount that seems to be good on this gun.  The Hatsan has an unusual combination piccaninny and 11mm dovetail rail and the mount I have is piccaninny and is as shown in the picture below.

  

Secure stop pin is essential whatever system is used.

That'll allow me to set them up to maximise the recoil reduction rail capabilities.

Had a 6 -24 X Sightmark on a .204 that along with the 17hmr was a daily shooter on vineyard pest control and held zero well whilst taking a fair pounding in the ute. The Vortex on the 17HMR didn't fare nearly as well and I had to baby that a litlle.

 

I've used one piece mounts but I prefer two pieces as often you can spread them as far as you can for stablility, I think mounts look weak when bunched up tight on a long scope with so much over hang.

2-15 is a great magnification, what brand is the scope, be awesome in the bush or thick stuff.

Im used to 8* minimum for hunting  but prefer 1.5-5 for centerfire bush hunting

Mounting a 30mm main tube scope to a Gamo Magnum .22.

I'll be leaving the anti shock mount on as that seems to work so far on the scope thats on it.

Scope is 2.5 - 15 X 50mm

Anybody got anything like that mounted up?
