I do Pauly. As I say in one of the long distance videos, your not learning to shoot if you don't shoot in the wind. I'll be doing it all again soon if the aa work better in gun this time. ( More like, if I'm shooting the gun better at a heavy weight pellet now I'm more use to the 97)
I'm always target shooting ( except with this arm at moment) wind is way more fun than still days. These ftt really suprised me in the wind. I was expecting way more windage effect off them. |

Top three is great, unless only 3 competed. Congrats on that.
Can't say I'd fancy having to lob a .177 around in high wind. Look forward to the pics. Edited by kruzaroad - 27 Oct 2024 at 2:59pm |

Do they have anything in the trees higher up or is it all low level?

We used to have them up in the trees. But with the new range regulations it was unpractical to do this because of the COF rules and also the reset strings were a problem due to the fact that when you pulled on the string it didnt reset the target because the string was on the wrong angle to the target. It was good to meet you guys today. I hope you enjoyed it. Here are some photos. I was a little busy to take more but im waiting for more to be sent to me and ill post them up when they arrive. |

Was good to meet you guys.
Next step is to arrange a forum weekend away somewhere for a bit of a shoot and a braai and a beer. In that order of course 😉 |

Cheers Nunga,
Keep up the good work organising FTT events and shooting those springers. It was great to both meet you and Pete and see some sharp shooters in action. I learnt some from you two re standing shooting and of course how FTT works - I reckon I'd be doing well scoring hits on the target backplates of any but the closest targets. And frankly I'd be shooting at my best prone to consistently hit the closest targets, let alone on the gusty windy weekend day that plagued the competitors and must have made the long shot hits a bit of a lottery. So getting anywhere that standard for me is likely a ... ahem ... long shot ... or at least ... ahem ... something to aim for...makes me realise I need to sell my larger boat and free up space for a 25, maybe even 30 -30 meter target range in my back yard. Pete, I reckon you need to get off your legs and onto the ground a bit more with those rifles then come and show FTT how a pro pest destructer can shoot. (No pressure mate. Actually that's bullsh*t - just do it mate!) So a good day out cut short as I had to go plant some spuds and get organised for some work today but I highly recommend a visit to a FTT event. Plenty of friendly people, impressive rifles with varied add ons for keeping them still while shooting, some serious glass on top of them, and you're bound to learn something. Next time I'll try and stay for the BBQ... |
