Hoping you experts can help me avoid a lot of googling...I have a HW80 that looks well worn and possibly quite old - it has the rounded front fore-stock and came with both .177 and .22 barrels and lot's of damaged screw heads. Am I right that the rounded fore-stock means it's maybe not so old?

Ron Young serviced it and says it's all good and it shoots straighter than anything I have had my hands on - but was grouping like a pack of 60s school girls going to see The Beatles. Absolutely rubbish results until I let the fore-stock go after over 50 years of shooting as me old Dad taught - with a firm grip on the fore-stock...

Anyway my main question is - Is there any way I can tell how old it is?

I'm looking to tidy it up, re-blue, maybe re varnish, likely sourcing some bloody expensive bolts etc - is there a better way than getting bits from the UK?

Thanks in advance to you experts...

Its a bit hard to tell how old something is without seeing it first. A photo would be handy.

Is there a serial number? That is the best way to tell the age.

What are the screws you're after? Are they the stock screws?
