You are very proberly right about the traffic thing, but there is and has been for many years now some
police managment with an anti gun agenda whos aim is to remove all guns from public hands so only police have guns, proberly never guna happen, but that dosnt stop em trying every chance they get. They been using the media thru tv shoes like police 10/7 to push their antigun bs for years, have now successfully convinced most dairy owners etc that soft airguns are dangerous,n evan convinced themselves their bs is true, hence part the reason for import bans on realistic looking toy guns n certain oc2/pcp airguns. Its actually harder today to get an import lic for a pcp airgun than an msa, simply because a policeman was killed with a pcp fx air rifle, dispite the fact he was only police officer ever killed with an airgun, the rest of course being killed with knives n firearms, many officers i have come accross in recent years actually really believe dispite facts being otherwise that airguns are more dangerous thn firearms due to believing the departments own propaganda program, and make no mistake it is a deliberate program The police in my area have been trying to bully everyone to give up the serial nos, calibers n make of all their guns when doing the security checks for licences etc knowing full well its not a legal requirment. But insisting to the unwary its a legal requirment the dirty buggers. Been all over tv n talk back radio today bout how our gun laws arent working etc, total bs of course but its exactly wot some in police want eh!! Guns be interesting times ahead next few years as nz police continue to push for tougher gun laws dispite this will have no effect on the illegal gun supply simply due to idiots n crims not obeying the laws as they are will not be any more inclined to obey any new laws either,a very simple truth nz police seem to not being able understand or if do understand choose to ignore to push their own agenda, which is to eventually remove as many guns from public hands as possible, while the illegal guns will majically disappear allso, wen truth is exact opposite eh!! Cheers Mike

The problem with the police today is not the police themselves but the bosses of them. They would rather have their boys in blue out on the roads handing out easy tickets for easy money that does not require sitting down for half a day filling out paperwork or sitting in a court room for a day. They spend 80% of their resources on traffic duties and 20% on real police work. There is no money to be made on real police work.

Unfortunatly we have had another preventable trajatory involving guns that left 3 dead n one more
seriously injured, this on top of the current court case with some total phuckwit having shot n killed his baby with a very illegal sawn off shotgun that apparently didnt work. Strangly enuf all the guns involved were obtained illegally, niether had a licence, but truth is thats actually illrelevent, what is rellivent is these two brainless phuckwits not only apparently very easily obtained their guns illegally without a licence, the facts seem to be there are a lot guns floating around out there left behind after licence changes over the years and when owners give up licences, The real facts are that nz police dont follow up after law changes or licence not renewed to see if any guns once legally owned but no longer legally owned have been disposed of legally and properly. There are of course some gun thefts but theft is minor compared to the what will be the huge number of guns that fell through the system due to police not following up when licences are given up and law changes. Yet strange as it may seem our police are blaming everyone else, rather than looking at their own lack of following their own proper proceedure,nz police like many police departments seem believe that more n tougher gun laws will solve a problem thats largly of their own making. Nz police recently went to gov with new set gun laws n got told it largly wasnt going to happen by the gov,so be prepared for lot media crap by police for tougher gun laws coz its coming. Tougher gun laws have never stopped crime, just we all know our tough drug laws work so well eh!!!! So tougher gun laws going to work just as well the drug laws work eh!!NOT a bloody chance, simply because only the law abiding obey any laws in first instance a fact that seems to ellude police n govs all round the world an allways has. My point is that like most people i have no issue with sensible laws that actually work if they make our country safer for all including our hard working cops, but unfortunatly sense dosnt seem to be on table when it comes to some our police n pollys in wellington these days it all comes down to politics and appearing to the public that both parties are doing their bit to keep us all safle from idiots n crims eh!!Crushing boy racers cars is a good recent example, made collins look good on tv,but did nothing else of any value eh!! Any way had my blow out for all the good its guna do. Cheers Mike
