It will work fine on a spring etc. Most greases claiming moly content have very little molybdenum disulfide in them. True moly greases e.g. Molybod GA50 are super pricey but a little goes a long way. You can use a lot less to get the lubricating effect.
If you're greasing a springer be careful not to get any forward of the piston seal as it will detonate! Tinbum tuning recommends using very little grease, other tuners use more including 'heavy tar' as it has a dampening effect and makes a springer feel less harsh.
