Yea, I can't stand the ignorance of those "air guns are toys" people either.

If anyone dosent believe the photos or believe that you hit a can at that distance, then that’s their problem.
Anyone who regularly posts in this forum is obviously passionate about their air gunning, and in my experience people who are passionate about their interests, are usually able to do them well.
I have no doubt that any of the regular contributors in this forum can shoot very well.
No one on this forum stands to gain anything by lying about their accomplishments, and I don’t think anyone would.

Because it won't stay connected. It would be wind sensitive. Don't think tinfoil would be a good 12volt connection.
I've made a tin plate put a couple of brackets for the arm. I'm just deciding if I want to put a weak spring at connection end of arm to force it down as it moves back or just put a small nut and bolt on one of the holes and let gravity do the work.
Another advantage of the arm is the plate should help hold it as it trys to get back to it natural hanging point.
Tin foil was one of the first things I thought of for a connection but ruled it out.

Here's the basics of what I'm setting up for a hit light.
I'm trying to make it sensitive as possible as I'm only getting about 1.18 fpe, if the calculators are right.
For the switch I'm using a cci mini mag cartridge container.
Two electrical connections.
One female plug for the spot light to plug into.
The female plug will have a direct connection to battery and a connection to the bottom electrical connector on cci box. The top arm will connect from target plate and the electrical connection on arm and will connect to other terminal on female plug.
The arm has a small amount of plastic below the connection plate to keep the connections separate untill the arm is pushed the mm or so back. The arm falls and completes the connection, spot light turns on. Stays on mind you, flashing bit past my basic set up.

Still working on best way to hang target plate or make a slide for it so it can move back as a unit. Sort that later, but have couple of ideas. For now waiting for epoxy to dry on connections enough to keep working on it.

If figure I'll just mount the spot on top of the backboard with a shroud over it.
