Hmmm if this is sensitive enough I could possible extend the range.
Only reason I stopped was it would t puncture a can any further away.
Hmmmmmmmmmm

She's a goer.
Thought about it and was going to get the flasher unit out of an old van here, but had to pull the instrament panel to get to it. Couldn't be bothered.
Its a simple unit and pretty easy to make. You better set up ppl could make a very effient one very easy.
Oh that cardboard will give four back drops.

Here she is. Master piece of engineering, that will undoughtly have you machinests rolling around laughing.
I can blow this and the plate will move and create the connection. It has enough weight to hold the plate in place. The wind here at moment be around 5+km. Direct into wind it trips every time. Side on it just sits in postion. I'll charge up a battery and give it the power test.
But should be fine if none of the old wires are dud.

80km round trip to get to town for a card Pauly. If I'm in town before I get the shot I'll do that. Let me put ph near target too.
You can put it on your site Nunga, I certainly won't be uploading it anywhere as general viewing.
All assuming I make the shot again. But I'm pretty confident and least know where I'm aiming at to get strait on target.
Still better finish light set up before anything else.

You can always video it on your phone. You can use my shooting channel on youtube to post it. If interested i can go over it with you. It is easier then you think

You could film it with the sytong and it would show the range as well.
Use it as a camera, stand behind your shooting position showing gun, then put sytong down on bench and whike still filming, show the range and then if you get light going, it'll show you hit the target.

Cheers.
I'm having a great time tinkering around.
I want to see if i can film it. At end of day its for me, but I'd like video proof.
Thats if it works.

You don't have to convince anyone here Kruz. We are all enjoying seeing the capabilities unfolding.

Yea, I can't stand the ignorance of those "air guns are toys" people either.

Nah, I got a your full of sh*t look when I mentioned it to dude in one of the gun shops.
Then there's those "air guns are toys" powder shooters who don't think an springer can even do 80m.
Fair enough, hell the farmer here couldnt hit a hare past 80m with a 22lr, so an air rifle couldn't do it.
He's changed his tune.
Then again untill this I think I would have been sceptical about 172m springer shot with a stock gun.
Video would just be the icing on the cake.
At end of day after this I'm even more sold on air guns.

If anyone dosent believe the photos or believe that you hit a can at that distance, then that’s their problem.
Anyone who regularly posts in this forum is obviously passionate about their air gunning, and in my experience people who are passionate about their interests, are usually able to do them well.
I have no doubt that any of the regular contributors in this forum can shoot very well.
No one on this forum stands to gain anything by lying about their accomplishments, and I don’t think anyone would.

It's all number 8 wire here Nunga. It's also a one use build. I'll never be shooting this far again. Just thought I'd get it on film if can. I have no dought that ppl question the photos, even though I've tried to show it all in pics. Video be much more conclusive. ( I also like long distance shooting so is an excuse to recreate it.

Because it won't stay connected. It would be wind sensitive. Don't think tinfoil would be a good 12volt connection.
I've made a tin plate put a couple of brackets for the arm. I'm just deciding if I want to put a weak spring at connection end of arm to force it down as it moves back or just put a small nut and bolt on one of the holes and let gravity do the work.
Another advantage of the arm is the plate should help hold it as it trys to get back to it natural hanging point.
Tin foil was one of the first things I thought of for a connection but ruled it out.
