Having several Gamo rifles i occasionally experiment with their pellets.
I like a challenge. mmm shiny

Lead free will be the future I expect and "gold plated" option was irresistible.

2nd pellet out of the tube was very damaged so at 60 cents per pellet not a great start.
Coating seems to make them oversize and not an easy breech fit.
Some I could not load properly with bolt action rifles as not willing to use excessive force.

Early chronograph tests indicate power loss even compared to 2 x heavier lead pellets.
I have some H&N alloys available so will do a comparison in the coming weeks.

Weights and sizes on a rainy day.

$30 for 50 pellets

oops

Hypersonic, thats new???

Wwoooooo

I'm scared.

Please do a review and accuracy test on them.

Also....

Can you do a penetration test and see if they have 20% more punch 👊

Wouldn't the gold just melt off from friction?
Good on you for giving them a go. But in all reality I think it's probly just a gimmick.

Alloy pellets are for target shooting at short distances. If its PB-free you want, sorry, its a dilemma I know. I use H&N copper coated pellets.

Also supersonic speeds with pellets are trouble. If you chrono at >1,000fps change to a heavier pellet to bring it below.

Not sure what they would be made of. But at a guess i would say they probably have tin or zinc with it

Zinc is about 440 not actually sure on tin but guessing it's low too.

Tin 231 c
Iron 1538 c
Zinc 419 c
Bismuth 271
A Quick reconded these used in pellets
Probly differnt mixtures at at differnt rates for differnt brands
Not all in the same pellet. So gold melts higher than everything but iron.
Trufully I would never have guessed they may put iron in a pellet.

I’ve tried the H&N greens, which actually grouped quite nicely in my Gamo CRF.
They grouped nicely enough that I would actually consider buying some for small pest control.
I don’t remember any loading issues with them.
Funny thing is they hardly deformed in the pellet trap, while the usual lead pellets get turned into smarties!

You'll have to shoot accurate then as they will probly punch strait through and not impart much shock.
I'm not an alloy fan but if they work for you and your gun and you can bowl the little pesties over then all good.

Personally I prefer the harder hitting “thump” of a slower heavier pellet, but was just interesting to note they grouped well in my Gamo 👍🏻
