So as the year winds to an end, what has been your favorite airgun this year?
Favorite moments with any air gun this year.

So my favorite gun has been the 1322.
Yep not the tx or sig. It is light, accurate to 20m, easy modification small enough to not be issue carrying around.
Gets used daily and has the highest kill rate of any of my guns, being it only pest birds. But its doing an awsome job. I use it daily.
Favorite moment was how well the pic of the hare I shot with tx200 at 55m came out.( pic in you got to be out there to see) Was a beautiful evening and perfect lighting. Closely followed by the 5 mynas with 1322 in two days after months of never getting near them.
Hope you all had a great Xmas and have a great new year.

Rule 1 was no new rifles this year. (gun safes are full)
Rule 2 have fun with what I already had on hand.

I struggle to steady when shooting from a standing position.
Plan was for a lightweight and short combo which I could hold in close to the body.

Project
Carbine - Crosman 2250B
Power - CO2
Breech - Exclusive Multi-Shot
Trigger - Sear cleaned up and new spring
Scope Tasco 4x32 AO
Performance - 7.02 ft/lb
Pellet - Sig Air Venom 0.94g
Accuracy - very good out to 25 yards. (tack driver)

Absolute pleasure to shoot and good enough to take along to club target competitions.

cheers

I came close to getting one of those breeches too Mercs. Very nice setup there. The Crosmans are certainly popular.
My fav gun is my rabbit pcp. It gives me great joy to shoot, and I just love the way I can depend on it.

That's a sweet looking pistol mercs.
Interested in the multi shot breech got a link? (might temp me into a CO2)

You have an bond with CR600 billbob.
Seems to have served you well, and mods you've done to it only seemed to improve it. Still think be awsome steam punk gun with more brass and couple of industrial looking no purpose cogs thrown on it

Glad you like your rabbiting gun pauly5, cause I sure like watching the videos of you shooting with it.
Watched latest yesterday envious.

Was expecting a few gamo, bsa and other large volume guns to pop up on this thread. There's a lot of ppl who have great results with them, and swear by them.

yes. I'd be totally stoked with that. Not only as it's an hidious native killer but as you say they are the hardest thing ever to stalk, get a bead on, and can dissappear into nothing.
Hat off to you, nice shooting

Lucky? If you pulled off a snap shot on such a sneaky, lopped run, low to the ground, narrow critter in the couple of seconds it stopped, that's skill, good shooting, a good eye what ever you want to call it, but not luck.

I just clicked on the link in your footer Dave. I saw that video when it first came out, but only just put 2 and 2 together.
Good stuff. I used to have an HFT500 in the sporter stock. I love the look of that stock. Great stuff!

Sadly I sold it to buy an EV2, which wasn't bad, just more target focused.

Happy New year Everyone. Have been to busy to join in the discussions, am packing up house for the move north to Orewa at the end of the month.

Still my favourite Airgun is the Sig ASP20.
This rabbit was taken at 68m back in February this year, measured with the rangefinder. Used a strainer post as a rest and got the head shot. Cometa 10,34 grain. Still using these pellets.

Back to the packing

Sweet placement.
Was a good area orewa, many years back. Like before the motor way behind it.
Have no idea now, but hope the move goes well and the area is just as good as was back then.
You'll be able to shoot yourself a kukabura up those ways. Have seen one there years back. Turn right at waiwera instead of left to the pools.
Wild gallahs out there too.

I am finding that the TX200 that I recently acquired may soon become my favourite. Have only downed 1 rabbit with it so far but has nicer manners than the Sig

They are a awsome gun. But heavy, and god did I baby it because of lovely finished stock and bluing.
Sig gets the hunting gun treatment and It's a more practical for hooning around through scrub for me.
Still I never regretted the tx, its finish and weight was its downfall for me, no complaints about how well built, and accuracy

Great shot Ralph!

Once you find the right pellet, these SIG's perform well eh?!

Well Kruza I don't see the point in owning a rifle if I can't use it. I have gone past the stage of collecting guns because of their age, heritage  etc. So the TX will be a Hunter, don't mind the weight and I'm sure it will get the odd ding or scrape but it will account for a few rabbits

And I imagine it will serve you well.
I never used many pellets hunting with mine. Shots hit where they were aimed 8 times out of ten. (me when they didn't)
It had such a smooth predicable action.
I was trying to find a lighter stock for mine before I Swapped it. But air arms don't make a. Synthetic and other purpose built ones we're geared more towards target shooters and as much as the and more.
I've done a couple of 5-6 hour hunts on the farm with it, I found the weight   noticeable after about 3 hours.
One thing I'll give the gamo is you could tote it around all day without noticing it.

Favourite moment(s) I am very lucky to be a member of the Taranaki Air Rifle Club with a very active shooting programme and great support and technical ability on hand.

This year I was the first break barrel shooter to make 40/40 consecutive silhouettes using my .177 Sig.

Here is our club artists rendition of me on another day working hard at the 50 metre range with my Sig of course.

That's a awesome drawing

If I am allowed to tell you my worst gun..... It's my Gamo viper express air shotgun!!! Aimed at some baitied starlings at 14meters this morning, group of around 8 starlings all after some bread on the lawn, mixture of adults and juveniles. At that distance the shot should have spread to cover most of them. Bang... There was what seamed likes 2 seconds where they stopped and looked at me with a WTF look, then all flew away unscathed......

Mutter mutter....

I would have rated the one I played at 7m with any confidence.
Perfect for birds flying out of trees, rats running past I would imagine. Sitting behind a Bush with bread a few feet away.
Paulo was mucking around with loads for his. Reloading with a couple differnt size shot.
Haven't heard the results.
Give him a pm
