Gday,
Was really interested in the physics of how c02 is delivered or needs to be delivered.

I bought a umarex 850 the other day out of need due to my pcp being out of action.

I can get the parts including a remote line, so my question is...

Can you mod and run a remote smaller c02 tank for a umarex 850 to increase shot count or does c02 have to be inline with the valve?

welcome to the forum :)

850 uses a 88grm c02 dosent it? you could lathe up a dummy 88grm in alluminium and thread a 1/8 bsp and run paint ball connector/line to it. worse to do is drill a couple of holes in through the stock for the line to connect to

Hi and welcome from Taranaki.
Great choice of rifle, looking forward to future posts

My .177 850 gives 160 shots from the 88gramme cartridge and as far I can discern has never leaked between uses. i understand the .22 versions are more efficient.
The 12gramme capsule adaptors would be useful but I have never seen them available in NZ.
Read instructions carefully when fitting cartridge as they are not fully tightened, actually backed off 1/2 turn.

Should you decide to make modifications CO2 is @ 850psi and can go very wrong so make sure you get good fittings like the paintballers use.

Mainly used for indoor target shooting often alongside PCP owners.

IIs there any reason that wouldn't work?
Ron from youngs said something to me about it needing liquid to enter the valve?

That is an 88grm threaded fitting from paintball nz fyi

They operate very well on HPA 850 psi high pressure air if using an external tank as depicted especially useful in the winter.
I never experimented with external CO2.

THats good to know. I guess it's just regulating the hpa to 850 is the issue, last thing I want is and explosion.
