this is both the description of what I'd like in an air rifle and recommendation I got from an air rifle specialist . what are ppls view on these combinations. what might you change in the set up and why.

my requirements would be springer 22 (pref a gas piston type) / trigger that will adjust to a pound or less and still be safe.
min of 50 meters ( prefablable capable of 70-100)/ due to finger loss a under lever or side lever though preferred would have to be mag feed as to fiddly for me to load.
single shot break barrel fine/decent sound moderate that screws onto end. wood stock or synthetic as long as it has weight to it. scopable. adjustable cheek piece would be nice but not a, requirement. price range upto $1800.00 approx ( though cheaper is fine if good quality or a couple of hundred extra if it is going to be worth the price jump) butt pad.
scope totally reliant on your recommendation but would like ao on side of scope. price range upto $1000.00 though around $800.00 would be nice. I'm not a rich man and are looking for a strong reliable set up that will last me a good many years and hold performance. its primary use is rabbit, pidgin, hare, quail and pheasant as food

Dear Sir,

We suggest you look at The Weihrauch 95 air rifle in .177 cal (950 fps), this is a well build German rifle with match trigger. $895.00

Suitable scope will be a Hawke 3-9X40AO Vantage with Sportsmatch T04 mounts. $364.00.

If you refer .22 cal , the Cometa Fusion (900 fps) adjustable sporting trigger, shoots well. $629.00 or with Nikko stirling scope $759.00.

Other brands don’t have a good trigger nor as reliable.

Weihrauch 95 is a great choice.

Hawke Vantage scopes are nice to use but only suitable for 12 ft/lbs in my opinion (2 failures as proof) I would recommend spending the extra for a Hawke AirMax

SportsMatch make good mounts. I use the dampa series which provides some protection for the scopes.

Cometa Fusion, I have not used so would like to hear more on this.
.22 at 900fps would be close to 25 ft/lbs

Nikko Stirling scopes are a bit difficult to find since Covid but have a lifetime warranty.

710 fps is a more realistic speed for 16gr  pellets in a Cometa .22

cheers. I'll take note of the scope info and upgrade if I by it. ( waiting on tax return) in assuming that he has the Nikko sterling scope as I edited what I wrote to him but did say I'd be getting it thru him. more importantly I'm getting real world feed back from real world shooters and that is priceless 😍

the cometa fusion from reviews seems OK but looks like may need refining. the Weihrauch 95 in fact Weihrauch range seems to be excellent, anyone used one on hares in 177? it seems rabbits OK but they aren't as tough as hares. now the tx200 tickles my fancy too, how fiddly is it to load (for those of you who have one) is there enough room for me to load it with my thumb and ring finger ( right hand) with out the ring finger getting in way in your opinion?
