Hi flock,
I'm continuing the discussion here rather than in the introductions forum.
I bought mine to shoot slugs, so I've tuned and tinkered with it some. If you want to to shoot pellets, it should be tuned to shoot 18gr JSB exacts (assuming you got the .22) at around 910 fps. It should be pretty accurate with those pellets.

I've added extra plenum space and a Huma air high flow transfer port.

I also made a barrel band as the barrel is too flexy for my liking, making it not such a great field gun for carrying around.

Wow awesome!
I will in time go down the slug path but will start the JSBs heavies. I'm trying to figure out how much big game hunting I have left in me, so heading down this path as bunnies and birds are an option that will keep me shooting.  Selling off the centrefires to help pay for it all. Still love to reload so one centrefire shall remain. Shoot mostly at NZHL and a occasional bit of light hunting.

Cool, I've recently got a couple of centrefire rifles. I have yet to do any hunting, but I fancy trying for a deer. I mostly get hares with my FX. I've shot my 308 at the NZHL range a few times.

I have an FX too, and it seems as that 18 grn pellet at 910 fps is a real sweet spot. I would love to try the slugs, but in surfing terms, one should never leave good waves in the hope of finding better waves.

Plus they are more expensive.

Still waiting for my one to arrive, getting a bit concerned about heat & water filters & how to pump it up. This Gun City shoe box pump my mate has to get it up to speed then top up with an FX pump, will keep an eye on the heat aspect. Don't want to mess up this puppy. Yes 18.13 JSB heavies is what I have and will probably stay with. Chronied my HW80 .22 yesterday 650 fps with 15g pellet disappointing, smooth & accurate though, couldn't  believe when I whacked a pigeon in the chest went down but couldn't find the dam thing. Problems chronying TX200 177 just shows error, perhaps some sort of adjustment on the chrony sensitivity.

depending on the type of chrono you have, muzzle blast will affect some chronoes particually those using photo cell light screens, solution normally for this type is to move chrono further from muzzle, hope that helps.

Finally arrive today, been 2 1/2 weeks from when I gave the nod.
Wow even though it's the long version it's still pretty short, nice. So far have pumped it up by hand slowly.
Put a vortex FFP PST 5-25 on it, scope felt like it weighs as much as the rifle at 30 ounces, will have to redo with some higher rings to do things properly.  The whole rig feels awesome to the shoulder, very firm & balanced. Yes I will set up something to firm up the barrel as to free floaty for me also. Now the fun starts tuning & getting to know this setup. Got a spare mag & 500 /16g JBS thrown in to the deal. As always Ron Young is a great Guy to deal with, also came in a nice case, which I wasn't expecting.

Tried to tune it today, could not adjust the regulater output, want 150 she's stuck on 100 so no way to tune. Looks like it's heading back to Auckland. In which case be in touch by ChristmasUnhappy

Gee, that's a pain. What pressure was the main tank on? It would have to be over 150 for the reg gauge to read 150.

Yep main tank at 3/4 full, I just can't get any movement on the adjustment the adjustment allen screw, in danger of stripping it, if I haven't already, why put an adjustment like that down such a tiny hole, when everything else is now using a knob. Don't think I moved it at all, gauge never moved. Did back the hammer screw out to   just under 6mm. Tested speed was 732 with 18g JSB, would get a lot of shots out of with the reg showing 100 but was looking for 900fps.

Just a thought, but maybe the reg is setup for sub 12 fpe?

I'm wondering did they change the adjustment set up having just seen this on the homn pages

Have you tried totally degassing it, then try adjusting the reg to see if it turns?

Good idea, will try

Hmm, my rifle has the model 2020, which is easy to turn anti clockwise with an allen key to increase the pressure.

Ok so tried to tune it today (Waitangi day)  Mrs was not impressed as I wasted most of the day.
18g JSB reg set at 150 bar, Hammer set to 6mm then fine tune from there.
1  457
2  520
3  568
4  619
5  665
6  703
7  745
After tuning on setting 7 backing off from where the sear wouldn't engage I got 783 was expecting more way more, so 25ftp seems to be it disappointed.

Damn, more mysteries to solve. One thing to check, is that FX updated the the transfer port design, so that there are are 2 ports to choose from (big and small) by rotating the barrel 180 degrees. Maybe your wildcat has the small one facing down (ie the one that is in use?)

Yea, was going to suggest that. I had wondered if gauge was off, but that's too much difference.

Done that, one Side mark P other S so now have the S slug side down, did give me slightly more bang.  surprised when I looked down the barrel it appeared rifled all the way down, was expecting the breech end to be smooth. Chrony seems to be erratic, does read lot, error signs coming up. Put a pellet into a piece of 4by2 & pentation was twist as deep as when I first got it, so will source another chrony to test.

Just wishing to thank XYON for his time today, spent a couple of hours sorting out the mess my Wildcat was in. With a decent chrony /  tuning my way over cranked reg settings. I now have the magic 900fps and am not wasting air achieving it. Many Thanks again

Great to hear. A chrony is really important for your air rifle.

What did you end up setting the reg at?

Back to where it was to start with, slightly under 100 plus hammer spring tension backed off heaps also as well.

Also turned the barrel back around to the pellet setting.

Sighted in today, got it all good for 50M then messed with the zero stop had to start again bugger. Back to 25M with 1 mrad high hold gives me a 50M zero all set with the zero lock. Finished at 25 check check at 50 all good. Surprise was the 16g pellets at setting 6    1 off max,  speed should be 900ish seemed to like these.

The 15.81 jsbs proved themselves again  so gabbed a couple of tins. Would have preferred the 18.13s but it is what it is.

Can't ask for more than that! That's a nice group for sure, and you'll be popping bunnies left right and centre.

Now just got to figure out, how to pump it up, have been using a hand pump but have had shoulder surgery and shoulder just won't hack it, much pain. Got my name down for one of those GC shoebox setups bit hesitant,  any advise appreciated.

Your only options are the compressor, a dive tank setup or, you could probably go to a dive shop, and they might give you a fill.
