Good evening everyone,

Has anyone had much luck with the Argentinian made Apolo pellets?

I've recently brought a tin of 9 grain .177 hollow points to shoot through a Stoeger A30 s2. The grouping was up to 4" at 20m with a crapy old scope, changed scope to a new scope today and grouping narrowed down to 2-3inches then after about 50 shots and thinking the new scope was crap I decided to shoot my old favorite H&N Barracuda Hunter Extreme and got 5 shots in a half inch group.

Either this rifle is extremely pellet picky or are these pellets the problem - they do have a reasonable side mould seam on them so this will throw off the accuracy.

What is everyone elses success rate with these?

Prior to testing what appeared to be a very reasonably priced option I checked out the Apolo factory on-line and they appear to be a genuine manufacturer located in Argentina.
They had modern equipment and staff were using safety equipment.

From my notes
.22 Apolo Hollow Point 1.15g (@.001" diameter measured variation)
These did not perform at the 40+ yard and 1.5 inch target zone I was trying for.
Reasonably priced option $14 for tin (250).
Shoot ok at close range of 15 to 20 yards.
Purchased and used one tin, no plans to re-order .

.22 Apolo Magnum Pointed 1.0 Gramme
Shoot very well from the Sig ASP20. 21ft/lbs with successful kills at 40 yards from standing position.
Shoot very well from the Gamo Magnum Replay 29 ft/lbs target at 40 yards with a 1 inch group from rested position.
Shoot well from Hatsan Striker 18 ft/lbs best results ever for this rifle at 25 yards from standing position.
Shoot well from Gamo CFX 14 ft/lbs with numerous hole on hole results at 25 yards from rested position.
Apolo Magnum Pellet is a very good all rounder with good penetration and can shoot some tight groups.
Purchased one tin and disappointed they were unavailable to restock.

.177 magnum pointed .53 gramme, one tin on hand but not tested.

Cheers

I have used them in the past, they are ok-ish pellets, they do not have a very high lead content in them, there is more alloys than lead in these

Thanks for that, I've got a packet of .25 which I need to test through my hatsan, haven't tested accuracy or put through the chrony but they seam to be fireing faster than JSB Kings which if they don't have as much lead in them as nunga says this would be why (even tho they are the same weight)
