aquired a pistol scope from fellow forum member recently,knew it had crosshairs twisted out of square to turret ajustments for some reason,knowing little bout this particular issue,i believed could sort it out easily enough,like all scopes it is nitrogen filled,but only in main body of scope,no gas in eye piece section,like many modern scopes this one has crosshairs etched onto a small lens just ahead of eye piece thats mounted in another internal tube and has the rear gas seal on it,this tube is the part the turret adjusters act on and move at front end to adjust the crosshairs,to access this lens the eye piece is unthreaded and removed,there are 3 small locking screws hinden under locking ring so ring needs be backed of to access them,screws are then backed out this unlocks the tube and crosshair lens which can then be rotated but needs a special tool to doso,had to make the tool as its job specific not something had laying around etc,its easy to twist and rotate the lens with tool,so was just a matter of twisting and rotating lens til aligned correctly and clicked back into its origional postion,the 3 screws were then tightened up again and bobs your uncle job done,when opened up scope i could see that someone had been there before me and locking ring had lot paint scrapped off,this was all the stuff i had seen inside scope before began work on it,obviously who ever was in there didnt know bout the locking screws going by damage to locking ring they were unable to move it,or possibly they may have been the ones who twisted crosshairs out wack in first place,who knows but its sorted now,crosshairs now back where should be and have cleaned all the loose paint out,everything nice and clear and crosshairs right again,took bout hour including making tool to end up with nice pistol scope,was worth little time thats for sure. cheers mike
