interesting post,there is to a differnce between a self loading rifle and a semi auto one,a self loading rifle isnt neccessily a semi auto rifle,cant think of any self loading but not semi autos off top my head but there are some modern made hand guns that are self loading but not semi auto,Berreta for one produces a version of the model 92 pistol with a double action only trigger mechanism,this pistol self loads when discharges,but requires the trigger be pulled to recock the hammer before it will fire again,there are other pistols made today with simialler firing mechanisms,produced mainly i believe for police departments possibly for saftey reasons,the guns do self load another round into the chamber,but do not recock the hammer,trigger pull is the same as a double action revolver,the term self loading rifle is proberly an english army term,the rest f the world calls them semi auto rifles,many of todays supposlly semi auto co2 pistols are very certainly self loading but not true semi auto pistols,but work quite differntly to the Berreta pistols,as these airguns self cock,but due to the rotary mags they use do not cycle the mag,and chamber another round,mag is cycled by the double action trigger,which then releases the cocked hammer and fires the shoot the exact opposite of the Berreta works,but acheives something resembling a semi auto co2 pistol to shoot,this type co2 pistol would correctly be called a self cocking pistol,not a self loading or semi auto pistol,any way an interesting topic for sure. cheers mike
