Hi,
We have been thinking about returning to Nz , depending on visas and things,
I was wondering what the laws are regarding my guns?
I got rimfires ( bolt and semi auto assult type ), shotguns and airguns, pcp and springers.
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Hi Mate,

You'll need an FAL to own everything except the springers, and I think you'll need import permits for them as well (each individual one, except the springers).

Depending on the model you may need a special license (E-cat) for the MSSA rimfires.

The rest you'll only need an A-cat for.

See the new immigrants section at the bottom:

You should leave all firearms in your country of origin until you have gained a New Zealand firearms licence and a Permit to Import. It is possible to make arrangements to bring your firearms with you before getting a licence and import permit, but this carries the risk that the firearms will be destroyed without compensation if you fail for some reason to obtain the licence or the permit.

If you want to bring firearms direct into New Zealand, obtain (before you leave home) advice from the " rel="nofollow - New Zealand Arms Control (Response & Operations).
