Here’s a bit of a rarity that I jumped on when it came up for sale. These were made for around 1 year 1968-70, so hard to find - the little known cousin to the famous Crosman 600 - both being true semi-auto pellet pistols. It’s heavy and clunky, but really a yank-tank version of a Swiss watch - the parts are nicely machined in steel and brass, lots of parts working together. You can see why it didn’t last long, its complex quality build would have been expensive to make and easily damaged if miss-treated! In its day it was the only air pistol with realistic recoil - the top section blows back. This system also made it super hungry on gas   It uses a rotary magazine built in, pellets loaded skirt first. Like the Crosman 600 it takes very specific flat head pellets to ensure it doesn’t jam, which would be a bad thing as you simply can’t get parts. I have found the Rifle brand flat heads work well in the old Crosmans. They cycle perfectly in my 600 pistol and are the right length for the breech in the 400 repeater rifle so they must be the same size as an original Crosman pellet. They are also cheap and readily available at Hunting and Fishing, which helps. ------------- tonycee |
