Its been common knowledge that Crosman is moving manufacture to China, assume to remain competitive in the market. First some of the pump bb rifles, which Youngs airguns has already found issues with; pins are smaller and more prone to wear, parts not interchangable with his existing spares and spares becoming hard to get with difficult agency structure.

And now the famous 2240 will appear with made in china on it.. I had assumed parts were already made in China, assembled in USA to gain that "Made in America" status while maintaining the low price point. I havent heard much of the quality difference, they havent flowed through here yet, apart from some of the modders complaining screws have changed from imperial to metric, so hopefully quality doesnt slip too much..
What hasnt been confirmed yet, is the 2250b carbine rifle; Youngs airguns isnt convinced it will continue! (should we be rushing to get one while we can??)

In addition, steel breeches are being snapped up - all the overseas retailers are either out of stock, or claiming supply is limited and its future unknown.. One of the biggest aftermarket parts suppliers (Gmac) stopping business a couple of years ago was a blow to the modding market so options are limited for the once popular 2240/2250 modding club - as not everyone is a machinist to make our own parts so the aftermarket route was a simple way to upgrade / customise

Do we think this is the end of the crosman modding legacy, or do you think it could spur on some innovation / encourage more aftermarket parts to be developed?

(above is assumption and hearsay, unconfirmed by Crosman obviously)

Well according to Mr Trump, the tariffs he’s placing on china will be bringing all manufacturing back to US soil in a month or two, so problem solved and happy days πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
