Hey guys,
I brought a 2nd hand 2240 and the small breach screw head was stripped, I've gotten it out in one piece, my question is, is a replacement easily obtained from my local screw shop?
And like a dumbass I've lost the tiny ball bearing, any idea of where a replacement can be got.

May thanks,

Kris

Hi Kris.

You can get both from Young's Airgun Centre.  Give Ron a call, he is a super guy to deal with.

You have joined a worldwide club when it comes to that detent ball and believe me the spring can be just as elusive. It will be interesting whether the breech screw remains the same now the Crosman's are being manufactured in China.

Oh no, so I'm guessing the breach screw won't be found at my local Blacks?

You can buy the ball bearings. I will try and find where I got them and put a link.

The small screw can be replaced with something else small enough, although you may need to retap the hole, which would need a threading tap. If you are going to play around with the 2240, maybe worth getting a small tap and die set, or you can buy individual taps from aliexpress.

Here you go. I suggest buying a few, that way you can pour them into the hole and hope one makes it in. Tongue

The screw is a 4-48 x 1/4 I've since found out.

FYI Fast trade in Hastings have a couple dozen 4-48 x 1/4 that'll fit the breech. They ain't cheap though, I've just ordered a couple, I'll tell you how it goes.
