Can anyone tell me what the purpose is of the 3mm grubscrew below the breach block on my recently acquired Air Arms S410 Classic?

I noticed it was about to fall out but none of the parts diagrams or YouTube tear-down videos show it so I have no idea what it's purpose is.  I assume it locks something but it travels a long way in and I don't want to risk tightening it and doing some damage.

Hi Gavin,

On my Side Lever version of the AA S410 Classic, that's where the high-low power button sits.

Perhaps your button has been lost (?) and this grub screw controls the high-low power setting?

On mine, turn the screw (button) anti-clockwise until it stops - that's High power (32ft/lbs). Turn it clockwise until it stops - that's Low power (sub-12 ft/lbs).

Hope that helps? Big smile

Yea, I think Myson is correct, but probably not a lost knob, but an adjustable grub screw. I suspect it will be a cone shape and adjusting it will alter the transfer port size.

Thanks guys, that makes sense as the screw end is tapered.  I'll play around with the chrony to determine where I should set it at.
