Does anyone have one of the "stubby" AA moderators they want to sell? This is the type I'm after: https://www.air-arms.co.uk/moderators/q-tec-short-moderator-unf-male.html Unfortunately Airguns NZ (nor Ron Young) do not have them in stock and it'll be months before one is coming in. ![]() If you have one for sale, or know where I could get one, please let me know.... Many thanks. |

No suppressor but I think I have a 1/2x20 thread converter for air arms that might be of interest?

Thanks JWABFROG.
Could you please put a picture up and tell me how that works? For example, does it allow non-male silencers to be connected - or something like that?
Would appreciate your advice.... thanks.

Hi Myson, it's a male / male adapter like the one shown in the link below:
https://www.suppressor-thread-adapter.com/product/silencer-adapter-air-arms-s510/ Most barrels are male threaded, meaning silencers are most commonly female. The adapter allows you to use these common female silencers. You'll have way more options than just those silencers made by Air Arms. Cheers

Hi guys,
Many thanks for your responses. ![]() JWA - now I understand, thanks. That's looks like a great option if I can't find a stubby. I'll send you a PM to discuss. Pete - it's .22 thanks, to fit my S510. Do you have one for sale? |

Hi Myson, no sorry, no stubby .22 silencers.
But I think the male/male adapter is an excellent way to go. I actually had one made up for me a while ago, also for an S510, which now allowes me to use any silencer I want on that rifle, or any of my S510s for that matter. I'd say grab that one from Jawb

Thanks Pete!
![]() Yep, JWA and I are now discussing via email. I think its a great option because as you say, I can then fit a whole load of different silencers.... Any that you'd recommend, young fellah?!

I have found the A-tec wave and the A-tec wave carbon to be excellent.
They are both rimfire silencers, but work perfectly on air rifles. I personally have the A-tec wave carbon on two of my work rifles. The carbon version is a little lighter and one decible quieter, if their website is to be believed. I dont have a scientific way (read a decible meter) to compair different silencers, just the old "listen carefully... phew. and repeat with the next one" method. But from my unscientific tests of a few different silencers, the A-tec's were the quietest (quieter than the Q-tec) and I'm very happy with them. |

Hi guys,
Perfect Solution! Better than the
Air Arms “Stubby”! And no need to go
through the time-consuming hassle of applying for a NZ Import Permit! I bought the male-to-male adaptor from JWABFROG, bought the great little
modular DPT 3-baffle rimfire .22 suppressor (made here in NZ) from my local
Sports Store and fitted ‘em together on the end of my S510 Ultimate Sporter .22
barrel shroud. I reduced the number of baffles from 3 to 2 and still got a very quiet
result! As quiet as the “Stubby”
suppressor from Air Arms!! So, this
solution is now lighter, quieter and shorter than the Air Arms “Stubby” - and
cheaper than importing the “Stubby” from overseas! Brilliant! And believe it or not, the pellet groups have improved (!).. At 60yds (my
zero), I compared 5-shot groups with the original long Q-Tec suppressor and
they’re consistently tighter!!! An added bonus for sure! This little adaptor and DPT suppressor have
proved to be an excellent alternative to fitting the expensive Air Arms “Stubby”! ![]() Thanks to JWABFROG for the adaptor and advice, thanks to KIWITR6 for the DPT modular suppressor suggestion and thanks to all of you for your ideas and help…. I’m a happy chappie! Thanks guys… a great outcome! |

nice work. the DPT's are a great suppressor. I have a couple, including one that is just the body, 1 baffle and cap for my crosman 2240 pistol. Supper small and works a treat.
