So the sig has been in gun cabinet for a bit, still in case and as of yet no surface rust. So it may well have been the humidity of where it was previously.
Time will tell.

Foam hard cases are great for transport, but not so great for storage.
No airflow and the foam cell traps moisture. They seal well further trapping moisture and when stored somewhere warm the moisture spreads through the humid case to give the gun a good steam bath..

Kruza said I had to try harder so here goes.

50 metres
.22 Sig
4.5-18x40 zeroTech (new)
SportsMatch Mount
Air Arm Diablo Field 16grain (new)
Bench rest using front bag
Perfectly calm (new)

mean radius 8.3mm max spread 22.7mm

Next zeroed in on paper with excellent results then shot at this target and decided that will be that for the day.
Time to get back to the rabbits that hang around at 40 metres thinking they are safe, not anymore.

That's frigging awsome grouping
Sub one inch at 50m. Positively inspiring.
You must be stoked with that. I'm sure the rabbits won't be.
Guess I better get off me butt and get a rest made to see if can match the performance of what the gun is capable of. Been doing standing at moment and it ain't no where near that.
Nice shooting mercs.

[QUOTE=kruzaroad] I must admit that since I went to finger tips, I've changed grip again and don't think it was as hold sensitive as I thought.
QUOTE]

Explain “finger tips”…?
Walk quietly, but carry a big stick.

I think he means that he's holding the gun with his fingertips as opposed to gripping it with your whole hand. (Relating to springers)

Kruz's version of artillery hold.

I had the .22 ASP20 out for a club best group competition last weekend and while it was doing ok I started to experience expanding groups as opposed to tightening it up as I went along.

Home for a check-up and the action screw at front of the trigger guard had come loose, tightened easily but will definitely include a drop of Loctite.

.22 ASP20

The .177 ASP20 had a clip come off and a locating pin moved inside the trigger mechanism locking up with the gun cocked so that went off to specialist at Stratford Magnum Sports. De-powering and disassembly were not easy and engineering required for the repair. Thousands of shots but still an unexpected failure, I will check the .22 to look for any similar issues and enclose a picture on what to look for.
