Thinking of you, any members in Auckland. One good thing is it gives us more time for plinking and back yard pest control.

Im going great, got access to the back end of a farm along the Ashburton river where a famer lost a lot of stock in the floods to shoot rabbits and hares, went down there yesterday on dusk for the first time and saw no rabbits but a feral cat and flocks of Quails. Also got an over abundance of magpies around here which 2 lost out to my .25 this morning.

Just received a couple of seal kits for a Crosman 38T that needs repairs and piston seals for another project that will keep me occupied when bored.

Ive got last years Bullpup on trademe if anyone is interested in it

unfortunatly this was bound to happen, cant keep it out with travellers still coming and going, but we cant shut down completly to rest world,so its a risk we take as long as we letting people come here from other countrys some with known to have covid, our system so full holes dispite what government would have us believe and with so many here willingly breaking the lock down rules deliberatly,we bound to get a bad out break sooner rather than later, just look at sydney coz of people not keeping the rules, same thing been happening in auckland so we no better you cant legislate stupidity out of people, but nothing changes too much around here in lock downs as dosnt really affect us that much other than some services we use are not there at moment, rural life pretty much continues as normal for most of us,coz we so rarely go to town, but must be hard for those in town specially  those with kids at home from school and stuck at home with nothing to do,was going to town day after they announced lock down to get my hpa bottles refilled so now out of air, hope everyone ok still few days to go yet if nothing gets worse that is we all had our vacs here so guess we lucky on that one,but so many havnt yet,and thats bit of a worry for many i would think.anyway back to the workshop plenty to do there.
 cheers mike

dont have hand pump anymore, havnt had one for years since the first one spat the dummy and couldnt be repaired, just never got around to getting another, pretty dumb considering where i live not to have a back up eh!!but like many hobbists i am allways juggling what to spend money on,running a machineshop means there is allways somthing running out that needs replacing,so allways comes down to what i need the most when spending money Will, unfortunatly a hand pump while handy to have hasnt been a priority until now,and evan if had the money i am out of oxygen and actylene, argon etc,so that comes first again, the joys of living on super eh!!lock down not helping either as cant go into town anyway, lol
 cheers mike

I have a compressor here that fills tanks up to 240bar. Standard A-clamp fitting.

If anyone is short of air, you are most welcome to bring your tanks here for free fill ups! Smile
Bring your rifles too and have a plinck at my place - 3 ranges available.

Love these lockdowns!!! More shooting time......Thumbs Up

I must say i am enjoying this lockdown now, we are still at level 4 here and cant go out for much but i have had the chance to clean out the workshop and order some goodies online which all arrived here today. i have space for my lathe now so im currently sorting that out to get here. lots of projects to finish and i am really looking forward to getting back into making some more parts.

level 2plus been little better than level 2/3 but still pain in butt, lot things didnt get delivered to suppliers over lock down and prices seem to have gone up as well over lock down, some pellets i use and get locally have gone up in last 6 weeks by $9/10 per 500,shop owner said wholesale prices had gone up by that amount, suppliers blaming higher shipping costs but seems bit excessive to me as thats 1/3 increase locally,i finally got the pcp revolver finished and have set it up and tuned it for 13fpe with 14.3gr pellets origionally had set for 16fpe with 14.3grs and just under 18fpe with 18.13 grs for 13 shots off reg from 2800 psi and 15 shots from 3000psi but shot count was only 14 shots of reg at 3000psi,13fpe gives me 18 shots off reg at 2800 and 24 shots at 3000psi so comprimised to get higher shot counts, still gives me 15fpe with 18.13 grs so its fine for rabbits /possums etc been lot fun tuning it getting reg presure and hammer strike just right been bit a hassel, a balancing act for sure, but all part the fun eh!!getting this right certainly paid off tho as only have 43fps variation in velocity over 24 shots so standard deviation of 1.78 fps over a 24 shot string not too bad.been long project this one spent 6 years working on revolver on and off and were times came close to binning it for sure but in end was too stubborn to give up on it after putting so much time and work into it,pleased its finally done and am happy with it too.
started few more pistol builds under lock down one for co2 in 177 and other two in 177 and 22 as pcps, all are repeaters and will be using the tandom rotary mags from the new Webley nemisiss co2 pistol, these are great little mags very small and dont protrude out breech top like other rotary mags do,they are two mags in one seven shots each side in 177 and 6 for 22 best pistol mags i have seen.
 cheers mike
