When you go into your favorite retailer, to pick up your next tin or two of pellets, watch what the sale person does with them - carefully.

I had a salesperson bring 2 tins of accupels all the way to the counter, only for him to do the following:
Salesperson "You gonna get some rabbits with these huh?"
shakes both tins and throws them down onto the counter :(
Me " not with those ones, I'll have two more tins that you HAVENT damaged half of the contents thanks"

Pellets are reasonably lightweight and easily damaged, you dont really want them shaken up or thrown around prior to purchasing them, as you will end up with maybe half a tin of useable ones.

Just an observation, and that sales person was very apologetic (in front of his boss to ) and doesnt do that anymore. :)

One thing I've learned is to go to a general gun shop ONLY when required, when you have no other choice. Many of those guys in general, know sweet fanny adams about airguns and ammo. They still call the pellets - slugs. Then there's the god complex. As soon as you mention air guns, some of them look down their nose at you and and I've heard the "oh, one of them" or similar come from more than one wide open mouth...

Visit any air gun specialist well before you even entertain the idea of visiting a gun shop...

i Get all mine from Alex at Magair now, nowhere else. partly because he runs our club (piako), but more so because hes got what I want - all the time.

You know, I've been past that area a few times in the past year or so and not quite managed to find exactly where Magair is. I once found it on one of those zoom in maps but, ahhh, I don't know, when it was real-time, I was a bit lost... One day I guess...

95% of mine come from Airgun Centre (Ron Young). Some have come from Sportways GS (becuase they have JSB's) and some from Wills FaF because they had some real good deals, at least, they DID once but sometimes they aren't too enthusiastic about helping you when it comes to airguns,, as in, they give you single word answers when you ask a question, type of attitude...

I get down into the Waikato, if I'm lucky, only a couple of times a year, usually because my brother sails radio controlled yachts and many times they have their Nationals and other events at the lake by the hospital in Hamilton or business drives us in that direction. The last time we actually went to Morrinsville and I tried like heck to remember the directions but alas, I just couldn't. We wound up taking a wrong road and ended up along highway 27 out past Tahuna, so we drove straight home from there (to Papakura)... I probably wont get another chance to get so close but at the end of the day, I just want to browse the place and who knows what sort of bargain you could potentially pick up on while you're there. Never mind, I guess I'll eventually get there...

Funny you should mention "single word answers" to questions, Patcheye !!

I have just recently made inquires with Mike Melick of Flying Dragon Air Rifles. I sent him two emails with some quite detailed questions, and got back pretty much one word answers. I was a little disappointed to say the least, when I was trying to simply get some good information about one of his air rifles ( Xisico XS28M - an RWS 350 Magnum clone ? ). I will now probably not bother with his rifles, based on his lack of helpfulness.
For someone who is reputedly a 'guru' regarding airgun tuning, and supplying very good Chinese made 'clone' air rifles, I expected a little more enthusiasm in his responses and information given.

Has anyone had better mileage from him, or any experience with his air rifles ?

Grant.

I found him very helpful when I was buying my QB79 from him, he answered a lot of questions etc before I ordered it.
Now I can't even get an answer out of him about some parts I want to buy!
