I recently happened across this scope during one of my never ending rifle scope google searches. I was looking for something with a little more magnification than the 6-24 scopes I already have for bench rest target shooting at 50m and this appeared to be ideal (if it were any good). After watching a Kiwi YouTube review of a smaller version being used for some type of long distance field target shooting for powder burners out in the wops somewhere (the reviewer was suitably impressed), I decided it was worth a gamble and ordered one from ScopeUOut for $660 with free delivery. It's manufactured in China for CR Kennedy Ltd and is one of several they offer under the Accura brand both here and in Australia. Initial impressions are excellent. The image is bright and crystal clear with the side parallax adjuster wheel being accurately labelled and focussing quickly with no free play. It was a little stiff initially but some vigorous back and forth rotations has freed it up (plastic tool in slot of illuminated reticle battery holder lid made quick work of this). The SFP reticle is not overly busy and has 6 levels of illumination with an Off position between each setting. The turrets are basic but work well with good tactile feel and sound. They require lifting to adjust and can easily be set to zero by using said plastic tool to remove the securing caps. There is no zero stop but that suits my application. I have it mounted on my prized Dianna Outlaw PCP with adjustable Sportsmatch rings giving enough clearance for the 56mm front lens which I suspect is the main reason the image quality is so good. At present I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another which may well happen yet as my Nikko Stirling Diamond 6-24x50 purchased a couple of months earlier has just been returned to the importer with a fault. It's definitely not as nice a scope as this one and they are similar in price. https://www.scopeuout.co.nz/collections/accura-riflescopes-telescopes-and-accessories/products/accura-varminator-5-30x56-riflescope-a60-illuminated-reticle ![]() Edited by KiwiTR6 - 11 Feb 2025 at 10:17pm |
