   Went for a shot a the range today, got of the car & a gusty southerly greeted me, almost didn't bother to shoot, bugger I'm here now. 16g pellets at 50m were all over the place as expected, but was impressed with the way the slugs bucked the wind, only got them moving at 830fps.

	Yet another glowing example of bc in action. Weight as well. Did you redail the scope for the slugs? Whats the twist rate of your barrel? What direction was the wind blowing into the pellet/slug at. ( let's say 0° direction barrel pointing, 90° being to the right, 180°being coming from rear etc.) Nice shooting with the slugs.

	Wind was head on 0, but gusting left & right would have been above 40 mph was a southerly squall lasted for 2 or 3 hrs. NV Scope was bang on for 16g pellets sighted a 25y at 880ftps so 50M using the top of bottom post. Slugs were also bang on at 25y & shots shown are straight at it, flew slightly high. Hopeless Day to shoot, its more about how the slugs grouped compared to pellets than aim points. Twist rate of barrel is the standard FX 700mm think it's 1/24 a faster twist of 1/18 on the properly designed heavy slug liner would be nice but the Wildcat is lacking in power to send them much faster than 830 but they are grouping not to bad.

	That's 64km wind. I'm hell surprised that the pellet group was that tight. Yeah the slugs definitely have it over pellets any day if your gun can fire them. Guess that's the differance between a drag stabilised pellet and twist stabalised slug. I'm pretty sure that pellets work better with a slower twist rate than slugs. So next question would be are you going to stick solely to slugs now, or chop and change depending on environmental conditions. For sure pellets work out cheaper.

	Got the rifle tuned setting 1 700fps with 16g hades using for pigeons in horse stables. Mostly shooting Hares. Setting 5 or 6 for 18 jbs pellets they are fine out to 60m if no wind. Setting 7 Slugs when windy. Do hit hard Have found the Pard Range finder hard to use as grass is overgrown, cheap thermal with the colour setting, hares give a faint red glow out to 60M so proved to be very useful to gauge range.
