Should have grabbed the air chief. Could have mucked around with Drilling holes along end of barrel and making a suppressor that went length of barrel.
Its nicely wrapped up in plastic, sealed with tape and sitting in farm tip now. (I couldn't bring myself to just throw it over the bank as it was ) |

Yes, I had heard someone describe that the air hits the washers, but the angle did what you say Kruz. Definitely my next project when I get some more suitable material.

Think to your barrel may help decide.
I've had 2 of Pauly5 suppressors. Both carbon fiber, both went on crossman barrels, which were rather thin so the carbon fiber was great due to weight. Definitely for the 1322 as the barrel is longer. Read an artical or watched a video on a suppressor and the baffles were at 60" I think it was, that was because it was high power and apparently that angle took a lot of pressure away from the baffle as it wasn't flat. They are good for making supressors, as the tube is true and lightweight.
They do have a sharper tone, as the wall is quite thin though. I have made a few, and have just used flat washers as baffles with hair curlers supporting a felt like material. This works well enough for lower powered guns, but I don't think its efficient on higher powered guns. I would like to try a shaped baffle insert, but you end up using a lot of material just to cut the baffle shape out of a solid bar of alu, or delrin. |

Are you talking about a compressor tank or building the the actual compressor out of it?

How would a person go about making a compressor for an air rifle out of carbon fibre or aluminium?
and would it make a lot of difference? ![]() |

Keen to hear how you go machining it. I use a hacksaw to cut it then mill the end to length and perpendicular. It get's fine burrs from the fibres, but a fine file or sandpaper works ok to remove them.
I suspect it will work out better if it was supported maybe with a wooden dowel. |
