85mm removed from barrel of Air Chief Junior.
It was heading for scrap when I tried this.
Originally I had 45mmOD at 10 metres with a red dot.

This target was at 7 metres using fixed sights.
The front sight was just pushed back on for lower target.

I Have since drilled the foresight mounting deeper and press fit back into place with no spline.

I can revisit at 10 metres with red dot if anyone is interested.

Id been keen mercs.
Be interesting to see if it opens up.

The barrel cut drop the fpe much?

Quite funny its more accurate with the barrel cut. Wonder if the choke is the prob. Was that cut off in the process?

Hi Kruza, yes I recall pushing several pellets through to confirm the barrel was choked within the cut-off.

I have a record of the as new Chrono test at 457 fps so can do a comparison.

From my notes:
20 practice shots to ensure barrel was coated with copper from FTT Power pellets.
Outdoors and conditions were excellent.

Full length barrel POA was the top bull with 86mm OD spread over the target.
Choke removed POA was the lower bull with 25mm OD and 50mm high.

When dont you have a few a mounts? Seems to me you just get more and more work as people find out and see your work.
You'll be starling shooting soon i guess. Spring and all
Gotten out lately? You live a busy life dont know where you find the time to shoot.

My Air Chief had a 73 fps improvement with choke removed.
That will account for improved accuracy.

i can't for the life me find my vernia.
Wanted to measure how much choke tightened.
So best could come up with.
Sig dagger pellets pushed through air chief barrel.
Size difference, before and after.

But a more interesting resault, which i repeated with a few pellets, to make sure it wasn't me, is the choke is only contacting part of the head. (All of the skirt but shallower where the head has no contact.)

Im assuming this isn't just my barrel.
Anyway something to look at for anyone still tinkering away.
