   I have a Gamo Wildcat Whisper in .22 and the trigger is terrible. I understand ii is possible to improve them (at least a bit) with a longer sear screw. Size is apparently M2.5x either 8mm or 10mm. But I don't know where to get one.
Any advice?

	I have the same gun and yes the trigger is not great and would be interested in how you get on with this. 	HI. I've got them in s/s cap screws from 4-20mm long (courtesy of AE). I'm in Stratford and shoot air rifles at the Eltham Small Bore Club range on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. If you have anyone coming this way I can put them in a small packet for collection from there, a local dairy, servo or my home. Just PM me to arrange.

	Pull the screw and go to a local engineering shop, engineering supply shop etc. They aren't a specialized screw, or thread. Ive did just that to extend mine. If you have the screw with you you can hold the two together so the threads sits in the grooves of each others. If they sit with no gaps, they are the same pitch of thread. You may have to cut it down.

	kruza, did you do this to your Gamo? If so, did it make much of a difference? Do you remember where you got the screw from? I've got to go to either Hastings or Palmy some time early next week which would be a good chance to try my luck I did get a response from Ron- he does not have have anything for this - as he is a official Gamo service agent, he is not allowed to fit non-gamo parts to gamo guns.

	Theres an engineering supply shop in hastings off omahu rd. Fast trade. Wilson st i think. Take the screw. If they don't have it they will tell you where to get it. Yes it does. You can over lighten it very easy. Smoothing and polishing the sears helps. If you pull it apart to do sears, theres a little plastic roller that is part of what the cocking arm moves over. It will most likely fall out unnoticed so make sure you have a cloth under it to catch it. Check a diagram on line to see. I may have one in my bits and pieces but im night shift and wont get back to farm till tomorrow. It may be for something different ill have a look.

	Thanks for the update - Looks like I'll be going to Hastings, probably Tuesday so Ill check it out then. I am aware of the plastic roller - it fell on to the floor the first time I took the stock off my Gamo - had to find a video on YouTube to work out where it came from LOL. I have seen some info on smoothing/polishing the sears which one person reckoned it made a big difference. One of the "longer screw" videos found an 8mm didn't make much difference but a 10mm made it dangerously light so he used a couple of small spring washers which effectively reduced the screw to about 9mm. Anyway - worth a try to hopefully get better consistency out of the Gamo.

	Ring them and see first. Dont go for the exact length,get to long and cut.or file to size. They have shim metal too. Check for any play sideways when the barrel is shut.

	Have you got a chrono to make sure its not a piston or barrel seal leaking. If i had time id hit the farmer up for you to come out so we could go over it. But im sleeping days at the moments.

	Thanks for the thought - but I know you are working long hours for the next few months. I did have a look on there web site and is says they have several lengths of 2.5mm machine screws in stock. As I will be putting my car through the touch free car wash at the Caltex in Omahu road, I'll probably just call in and see what they have. Crono is reasonably consistent 704.2 - 715.2. I really need to strip the gun down, clean and relube. I got it 2nd hand from a guy in Stratford and I have no idea of it's history. I did clean the barrel out when I got it and it was quite dirty. I have put close to 300 pellets through it and it is still dieseling after every shot. My son-in-law has a 177 gamo he bought new and it was diesling a little last time he used it but it has probably had less than 50 pellets through it. It also has the SAT - so I'll grab a few screws if they do have them as they are under $1 each and if I can make my trigger work better I'll have a look at his too. I've only shot his gun a couple of times and can't really recall much about it.

	Oh hell yeah pull it apart. If its still dieseling it probably has a petroleum based grease in the cylinder and is picking it up every time you cock it. Bit of tlc will do it the world of good.
