Hey, out of interest I think I found the issue with the sig barrel rusting. In the weihrauch manual of all places.
Recons don't put the weihrauch in foam lined cases without a plastic liner as the foam may with the metal. Sure enough the weihrauch started to do the same thing as the sig. Live and learn.

Yes its said the foam cells hold moisture so prolonged contact can cause rusting. Also the cases themsilves being plastic shell dont breathe well so hold in water vapor.
'Ideally' hard cases should be used really only for transport, and short term storage - between shooting and storing in a gun safe or cupboard that allows air flow around it..

I have a FWB 300s that lives in a foam lined hard case, I give it a really good wipe down with oil before storing away to give a good barrier. (Reminds me i need to check it!)

Theoben Sirocco

FWB 300s
Webley Patriot
One or two others...

Current projects:
Too many..

I experimented with a couple of things when first read it.
Settled on a dam good oiling and wrapped it in gun cloth along the barrel. Thats worked fine. I am currently looking for an alternate liner.
So far have considered rubber or the ever useful camping mat.

Sig got a few shots through it this after in fading light. A few random targets just to see if I was in line. I discovered I was shooting my early 2" to the right compared to Kruza at 20m.fer clicks and its sorted. Will do an official sight in and validation of poi in the weekend

They had good preformance. On par with AA I was using. In fact I think most of ppl who saw the groups on site, I put up leaned towards the exact.
That tin was was my emergency tin in case I couldn't get AA heavy.
Looking forwards to a few targets and your view on gun.

Righto, had an hour to get comfortable with the Sig today. Using unsorted exact heavies. While trying to maintain a tight group I was mainly just focusing on how the gun reacts and fires and get used to the feeling of it

Here is 40ish pellets at 20m

And at 40m - good to know I have the ballistics almost perfect through chair gun.
