I’m after about half a meter of 25-26 diameter aluminium black anodised tube or carbon fibre
To make barrel shroud come suppressor just wondering if anyone has anything suitable they would want to part with. Cheers Stu

Hi Stu.
I just received 2 x 500mm lengths of 30mm OD carbon fibre tube from AliExpress yesterday for the same application, just under NZ$40 delivered. Smaller sizes also available and the quality is superb if you're interested. I purchased the 2mm wall thickness. https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006390580191.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.36.76341802ZRx2Zk&gatewayAdapt=glo2vnm

Hi Kiwi
Not worked with carbon fibre before but would be good to see how it machines. Are you using both lengths? I have an old bsa s10 carbine pcp with a large suppressor On it and I want to improve looks weight and noise if possible. Cheers Stu

Hi Stu.
Yes that'll be fine, I don't have an immediate use for the second length which you can have for $20 plus courier. PM me you details and I'll work out the freight cost. Cheers

Keen to hear how you go machining it. I use a hacksaw to cut it then mill the end to length and perpendicular. It get's fine burrs from the fibres, but a fine file or sandpaper works ok to remove them.
I suspect it will work out better if it was supported maybe with a wooden dowel. |

How would a person go about making a compressor for an air rifle out of carbon fibre or aluminium?
and would it make a lot of difference? |

Are you talking about a compressor tank or building the the actual compressor out of it?
