I used a ring spanner to tighten up harder.
Heres a question about refacing the breech.
If your breach sits flush with the reciever, and is based around a single pivot point. Won't squaring the breech face allow the top in closer but move the bottom out?

I think I might try to remove the peening before I attempt to take the pivot out....

Well I went backwards tonight.  I cleaned the barrel and fitted the little Tasco.  I was really looking forward to shooting some decent groups, but even sighting in at 6m they were all over the place.  The scope was good and firm, I'd earlier tightened the stock screws and they were still good.  I went back to 10m and could achieve absolutely no consistency at all, so bad in fact that I'm not going to bother posting any groups because their weren't any.

So, off came the scope and the stock.  The barrel is dead straight and the rifling looks good to me although I have very little experience with these things.  However, the cylinder is shaped like a banana.  My glasses tend to make all straight lines look curved but the steel ruler doesn't lie!  I don't know if this could be part of my problem, but when I get the thing fully dismantled I'm going to make up some half circle wooden support block and press it back into alignment....

LOL  Really enjoying this and worth every cent of the paltry sum I paid for the gun. I'm new to the sport and this is a great way to learn more in a relatively short time with not a lot at stake....

Hmmm a pitch fork that might work, it certainly won't be these guns.
If we did standing still would be the safest way to avoid pellets

LOL, what we are going to do is stand you in front of a wall execution style, and use our Air Chiefs to take shots at you....so you're safe.

Hahahahaha yes the pitchforks are definitely a scarier thought than the air chiefs

I wonder after a couple of months of tinkering we take them back to GC and say they didn't work! Haha

More like take it back after couple of months say it does work and that's not good enough as it will no longer discourage kids from shooting as it now hits the target.
