I'm curious about plls views on what they consider the ultimate. springer.
design me your ultimate idea of a springer, what stock, what power plant, trigger, barrel, scope and other details you deem useful. technical or just this power plant in this stock.assume no price limit, all parts will adapted to fit.post it here.
I'm hoping to learn more about what is around by seeing what people have found good in a gun. could be could I build one eventual, could be it will help me decide what I want in a gun. could be you get new ideas for a gun. design the ultimate springer ( and get ya mates to too 😀)

oooh fun.

I like most aspects of my Theoben Sirocco - they were the first gas ram air rifles, the piston and pressurised cylinder form the gas ram rather than a drop in gas strut type unit.
results in a very clean shot cycle as there is no spring reverb. so:
- Wood stock; i find helps absorb some vibration over synthetic
- Its abount 22 footpound which is plenty for the usual pests up to possum size, much more power and you increase cocking effort etc and are not as nice to shoot.
- It has a very accurate Anschutz choked barrel, so something like that or a Lothar Walther.
- Trigger is less than perfect as it uses the Webley Omega trigger - its crisp but a little heavy. If I could change that out for Weihrauchs Rekord, or Air Arms CD trigger that would be awesome.
- I like "pretty guns" so the deep glossy bluing of an Air Arms, with a walnut stock.

The equivalent off shelf would be the Weihrauch HW90 that employs the theoben ram; wouldnt mind giving one of those a go..

J S Airguns
Air Arms TX200('s)
Theoben Sirocco
HW77
FWB 300s
Webley Patriot
One or two others...

Current projects:
Too many..

awesome just the sort of thing I'm looking for. I'll be on Web searching out the description of your combination. the ram info is great it's immediately opened up my eyes to investigate into the systems. what's your twist rate in the barrel and what grain and shape of pellet are you using in it. know any shooters who would have their own ideas about how a break should be set up. multiple views and even discussion between ppl is really gonna be a benifit. thanks again for the insight. appreciated.

Great idea for a post.

Gas Piston and 20 ft/lbs.
Adjustable cheek riser.
Picatinny rail.
Fixed sights as an option.
Manual safety.
Trigger: The best we can afford.

For pest control I prefer the no fuss care and lighter composite stocks.

the adjustable cheek riser is something I'd like too. as for the trigger in total agreement, I'm missing my trigger and middle finger so shoot with my ring finger and I notice the pull on gamo. think I'll put a slightly longer adjusting screw into it and see how light I can get it safely. Nice overview cheers
