Hello and welcome,
I shoot .25cal and JSB Kings and JSB Hades are my go to and is what my rifle likes the best for long range. I have tried H&N Barracuda Hunter Extreme which shoot around 100fps slower than the JSB pellets - very high hitting power but drop too fast for my shooting application I have also tried the pellets made in Argentina (can't remember the brand sorry) they shoot fine but are slightly less accurate from my gun than the JSB. What rifle are you shooting? I trust this helps. Edited by Billbobnz - 03 Aug 2021 at 10:38pm |

G-day Billbobnz
Thanks for the info on the pellets your using and have found good for your rifle, my new rifle is a Hatsan AirTact ED Vortex .25 Cal the only pellets I could purchase at the time was Apolo domed 25gr(which may be the ones that you mentioned). Have probably put about half a tin through sighting in the open sights and target practice, seems to have good grouping and a bloody good punch. Will look at putting my scope on and have to go out and get some possums. What I want to know is where do you guys /gals get your pellets from not much to choose from at H&F here in whangarei in .25. |

Try Airgunsnz.co.nz, Youngs Airguns, both will courier nationwide. The usual hunting stores carry a very basic range

No problem, I use a Hatsan 125 sniper. Get your JSB kings from Young's would be the best. I was taking 65m shots at a tin can today with my brother in-law and getting a 1.5 inch group which is not bad for a springer. And also lobbed a couple of shot out to 105m at another target and was still managing to hit it in the wind
I have shimmed the breech on my rifle to take every last remaining movement out, this improved the accuracy by over 50%. Keep an eye on the breech as it may loosen off, also the stock screws. It also took a good 200+ rounds before the gun settled in and accuracy improved. Take your time and enjoy it. They are a great rifle, you may have seen on another post of mine a wallaby I took with my .25cal |

Welcome, the .25 pellets give a nice thump from modern rifles. I tried a few but have settled on the Apolo Domed you are using. Gamo Promagnum 1.41.grammes 21.75 grains pointed dome head $20 (175) JSB EXACT Lead Free 1.07 grammes 16.54 grains dome head $37 (150) BSA Pylarm 1.2 grammes (actual 1.41) 18.6 grains dome head fluted flare $25 (200) JSB Match Diablo 1.64 grammes 25.3 grains dome $32 (350) Apolo Domed 1.6 grammes 25 grains $13.99 (200) |

I should give the Apolos a try again. I also want to try H&N hornets which have been recently released. I also have a packet of JSB Hades in .25 I need to use.
Remember to keep checking your scope mounts and stock screws constantly with these heavy firing springers.
