Hi

is anyone on this forum selling the 79G on trade me?

I have a 78G and these guns require special handling, care and attention.
first off, they are very powerful and some were subject to a recall back in the 70`s.
the recall dealt with the possibility of these guns going off when dropped.
My 78G has had an issue (once) with misfiring the first shot due to the gas piercing pin lodging its self in the CO2 canister.
the concern is:
if the first shot after the canister is pierced is extremely low powered, and the gun is still loaded, then this is where you have to be very careful. when the cap is dislodged gas will exit and fire the pellet without the user touching the trigger.
warning
If the gas piercing pin is logged in the canister or the first shot is extremely low powered I would face the pistol to a safe place and re-hit the piercing cap at the butt of the grip. the pellet may fire at this point.
Personally I wouldn't recommend trying to get the pellet out at this stage as it may unintentionally exit the barrel.

it would pay to include a copy of the manual with this sale in my opinion to reduce any chance of a misfire or accident.

also this series of pistol should be charged at all times.

quick edit: the gun must be cocked and unloaded before piercing the 12g co2. then decock it.
also, and this is where the gun gets so so reviews: after finishing a 12G canister put it down for about an hour, then re gas it. my 78G needs a rest otherwise it will leak gas and you will get about ten shots from a full canister.

looks like some one won the auction but the pistol has been relisted.
I must say the 78G is by far the best CO2 pistol I have ever had the pleasure of. It`s big and heavy and kicks like a real one.
as you may be able to tell I would love a 79G.
My Dad who was here over Christmas was impressed, he was an open carry guy back in the day. He said these types of pistols were designed for real fire arms training.
If anyone reading this has bought it, please look after it. Keep it gassed up and be safe

I have a 78G and a 79G both of which I have rebuilt myself, great fun pistols with a very realistic feel!

I will be selling both of them in the near future in an attempt to cull the collection a bit.
