Hi, I'm Matt from Stratford, Taranaki.  Just bought a Crosman P1322 for backyard plinking and came across this forum.  Have previously used Gamo air rifles for hunting possums in nearby bush when I lived up north.

Hi Matt,

Welcome here. Great choice, a plinkers dream. I have an old 1322 I don't use enough, but it's accuracy always surprises me.
We look forward to hearing more.

Cheers
Paul.

Welcome aboard. Fab little gun. I absolutely have never regretted mine. Brought a second one as well.
The amount of small birds like starlings, sparrows, mynas it has taken far outstrips any of the other guns ive had for critters taken.
Ive put stocks, steel breaches, hollow probes on both of mine. Prefure them as a carbine. Longer barrel on one and valve increased in volume.
Now has enough power to take a rabbit at 30m.
Accurate as ive found. Furthest shot 50m on starling with longer barrel and standard valve. Just a great little gun.
Trigger sears can do with shimming for sideways movement. Sear faces polished. A .22 lr brass case slipped over the sear spring for one of the sears to sit on instead of the sear resting on the spring, is good too.
Only real issue ive had with both is the screw for grips on right hand side strips the thread it goes into easily.
Make sure you have the correct imperial allen key for breech removal. Real pain if they strip.
If you pull it apart watch out for a tiny ball bearing that the saftey catch uses. So easy to lose its not funny.
Everyone seems to recomend youngs air guns for breeches. I got the longer barrel from there. H&n Field target trophy 14.66gr have worked well in both of mine. Hades also worked really well as a pellet.
You'll find plenty on site and online.
My mods are basic some of the guns being built on that platform are just plan awsome.
Keep us informed of your progress and hopefully some guys on here who are way more onto it than me, can give you a few more recommendations for mods.
Great choice of gun in my view. Keep us updated on your progress with it. 👍

Thanks. Looks like I'll have to look overseas. Youngs say they do not sell breeches - at least anymore. Also tried Mike's airguns. Ebay has some aluminium ones but the price is up there. Anyone know what I need to do to have permission to post in the wanted forum?
