Hi all
I have a BSA Meteor mk3 made in 1972
It has a upwards bent barrel from a sudden barrel release
I really want to fix this as I love the old BSAs that is until gamo turned them into sh*t.

Any advise on how to fix the bend is much appreciated

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Have you tried aiming a little lower? :)

But seriously there is not a lot you can do to get it back. How bent is it and is there only one bend? also what engineering tools do you have access to?

I can tell you the best way to go about it but you will need some specialist tools like an Arbor press and a magnetic dial indicator and some V blocks or something like that

Hi,
just yesterday I was talking to Myson from the forum who mentioned he knew someone who had successfully straightened a bent air gun barrel after a gunsmith telling him it would  be very expensive to try and be unlikely to be a success.   Be worth reaching out to him for more info.

Other than that, it would be worth contacting Ron at Youngs Airgun Center (www.youngsairgun.co.nz) - he may have a spare barrel somewhere.  I see he does have a  Meteor MK1 that is missing a rear sight for $90 listed on the "Collectables" page of his website.

You may be able to get a replacement barrel from either TW Chambers (https://twchambers.co.uk) or Airgun spares UK
(https://www.airgunspares.com)

Good luck - and welcome to the forum.
Regards
-Ec
