Just put the first of many coats of Blo on that cedar cheek piece you gave me Brett. Will take me about a month to finish. That shape is great but unsure which rifle to put the cheek piece on!

That cedar seems tough to pop the grain on but I'll get there, hopefully in under 30 coats!

3 coats hand rubbed til hot and oil-sanding with 1200 grit paper. Getting there... Quite soft tho so will probably have to finish it with shellac a month or so after the last coast of BLO (to give it time to cure).

Every time you smell that scent of poo, that's actual poo up your nose. Bug resin doesn't seem so bad.

I'd love to use Chinese lacquer, except that it's incredibly toxic. Definitely don't want that on my face! Great finish though.
