So page 135 of "ya got to be out there to see", -Ec sujested a pistol comp and put up how another site runs thier comp, for ideas.
No prizes, bragging rights only. I think its a great idea, even if i don't have a pistol. ( Could be excuse to buy one 🤔) As the biggest problem with the 100m challenge for most was space. This should be an easy attainable space for most people. So anyone keen? Bit of friendly comp to keep ya all on ya toes? |

I am in, I have printed the targets from the link and sizing is good.
I will have to find the iron sights for the CP1M. Ec please bring the rules and link across to this Post. Might have to measure out a shady spot for the summer.

I could be keen. need to know the rules. but i have to say 6 meters seems pretty close. 10 meters would make it more entertaining

Wind abated this evening so first attempt.

Mercs have you done a review of napier pellets?
They have got my interest. They have a very bold claim on their web site that their .22 hunter pellets work in any air gun! Don't think anyone would mind if you dropped that target and did it with a backstop mercs for the sake of clean holes. I'll copy the blurb you asked to be shipped over and paste it. |

If there is enough interest we can have whatever rules/categories we want. FWIW below are the UK Air Gun Forum "rules"
"The competition is over 6 yards, using official NSRA 6yd targets. Home printed versions of the targets are acceptable, but please check the sizing of the target. The black section of the target should measure just under 31mm in diameter (30.89mm to be precise!). I’ve attached a .pdf version below for printing on the back of a standard 17cm target, but there are other versions available on the “6 yard Air Pistol” thread. There are four categories in the competition: - One handed unsupported - Two handed unsupported - Rested (this can be standing or sitting, resting on anything really). - Replica pistols (for CO2 replicas of any type of handgun whether historic or current. Can be shot one-handed, two-handed or any way you like). There will be a winner for each category and you can enter all four if you fancy it! I’m going to recommended that you shoot two targets of five shots each for reliable scoring. To keep scoring and record-keeping straightforwards, please submit your entry with a photo of your target/s with the below information, and don't forget to show off your pistol - Username - Pistol type and model - One-handed, two-handed, rested or replica - Score To keep everyone’s interest up during the month, each member can submit up to 4 cards during the month for each category. That way you can keep shooting and not worry that you might get a better score later in the month. I will use the highest score of the 4 to determine the winners and I will tot up the scores and make the announcement on or about November 1st. Any questions, give me a shout but remember that this is all just a bit of fun to get us shooting. There are no prizes other than bragging rights. The competition is open now and runs until the end of the month so get shooting and let’s see your cards!" However, we can do whatever works for the most members. Attached is a copy of the target the UK group is using. Regards -Ec uploads/787/17_cm_Two_Targets_PDF.pdf |

That sounds good. 10m would be pretty challenging. 6 yds would still be a challenge, but likely more flattering and could be achieved in a typical garage giving everyone the benefit of shooting out of the wind.
I am in. |

It really come down to what works best for the most people. In my case I should be able to set up up to about 7 meters inside the shed at home - with the constant wind during the day recently outside would be a pain. Will have to measure but I could probably get close to 10 meters inside the neighbors hay shed when it close to empty.
Only having a cheap break-barrel 177 with very basic open sights 10 meters will certainly be a challenge. Nothing to stop us having a category for red-dot or anything similar if there is enough interest. Personally either 5 meters or 6 yards (just under 5.5 meters) would work fine. I would probably try both single handed and double handed. What works best for every one else?

I have an old daisy 717 single stroke pneumatic. Lovely trigger, low powered, but nice to shoot. I will try my best at single hand unsupported to start.
