![]() Always been a fan of these! The HW45 is a hefty spring pistol, that has a good kick, nicely built German beast. some say the oldies are better made but actually the finish on the new ones is arguably better - but I’d say it’s just the difference between cast and hand finished on the old ones vs modern cnc machining? Seems more sanding marks etc on the old, cleaner lines on the new. I suppose some would say the blemishes is evidence of Craftsmanship? The grip on the new one is aftermarket by Rink in Germany, you can still get the standard 1911 grip version (no emblems anymore) the “black star” has the HW75 style flared grip in black laminate as standard.. Trigger on the oldie is better set - light with a smooth first stage, slight bit more pressure then a crisp let off. The new one just needs a bit of a tweak then it’ll be just as good - if anyone has one, google Jimmy Dee HW45 trigger adjustment for a great tutorial. |
