Well i have hit a brick wall with this. AspUpload require the server specs and type of environment that the license is installed on which i do not have. My hosting provider will not give me the details for this and have said to contact AspUpload... so i am running around chasing my tail. The lastest reply from my hosting provider was "transfer my site somewhere else"

So i will be looking to move the site now since these clowns dont seem to understand english and i have had nothing but hassles with them

It is going to be a couple of weeks before it is all ready. My options were to buy the license and stay with these guys. But then i pay the license for their servers for anyone else to use and when i leave they still have the software on their system because i can not install it or delete it from my end. How is that fair?

Option two. by the license and install it on my server, host it form my place. But the problem with this is this site used SQL data base and my server uses MySQL and it would take a lot of mucking around to get it to work. I would have to buy another license for SQL to run on my server.

Option three. move to another host that already has the software required for the upload. Problem with this is the support. Every one that has the required software at the "right" price is overseas. I wouldnt be able to just pick up the phone to call for help if anything were to go wrong

Option four. change the site to PHP as there are way more stuff available to use and a lot more support. Problem with that is importing everything into php form the data base.

So im probably looking at option three for now. Which is a bit annoying as i have only just renewed the site for two years because i thought they has fixed the upload issues. If i had of knowen they installed a trial version i would not have renewed the services and we would not be in this situation we are in right now. so yeah im a little Pi%%ed off right now lol

Good on you for sorting that out.

I must say, that from a viewpoint of not having a clue what all those anagrams mean and IT knowledge not extending past copy and paste, it sounds very frustrating, almost designed to be over-complicated.

So sorry I can't help, but thanks for sorting it out.

You're absolutely right Pauly!

It's why I went grey at 40!!! Smile

One of the reasons its so complicated is that IT solutions these days are composed of many "items" that interface (talk to each other). So, when something goes wrong (and it always does!), determining which component failed is a nightmare.  And each IT specialist maintaining each item blame the other components! They pass you on to the next person saying:  my component is OK, you need to talk to .....

Blah Blah Blah.... and so you go around in circles, trying to identify the problem!

This is all very well illustrated recently with the Post Office saga in UK, where the huge Fujitsu Horizons software and data base (and human management thereof) caused years of pain and grief - 4 Postmasters committed suicide because of it!!!

There's a great TV production (Mr Bates vs The Post Office) that I highly recommend you see - it's an eye opener!

I spent 36 years of my life doing this sort of crap - never again!!!! LOL

Even something like Patreon on you tube.
Design a kiwi air gunner sticker and print it up if you dont like the idea of accepting money.
Or even better (sorry in advance gamo owners)
A sticker with a gamo target, that has heaps of shots all over the place but nowhere near the bulls with the caption underneath
Luckily my other air rifle is a weihrauch
( Or top end air rifle)
🤣🤣🤣
