Enough shots to sort whether this can live up to "shoots like a PCP".
Answer: not the FX, Diana, Weihrauch or Air Arms I compete against.

Findings
Definitely no significant recoil is felt.
Accuracy - quality back yard plinker by all means.
Reasonably quiet.

Surprises
With scope mounted it does not fit in any of my carry bags or hard cases.
Early failure, great service in NZ on replacement but demonstrates poor factory QA.

23 yards, scoped, bench rest, two in the top hole? was promising but..

Chronograph Test - big tick
250 Pellets through rifle so consider break-in period completed.
First pellet is the rifle direct from gun safe after storage overnight.
Readings settled immediately so this indicates the gas ram and seal system are healthy.

Comes with an unusual but very adjustable cheek riser.

Today everything is removed for back to basics session using fixed sights at 23 yards today, hitting a 2 inch plink with ease but that is about my limit.

Red dot was set up this evening and working well when sighting in at 15 yards.

I believe it will be similar to Diana ZR mounts where the scope is separated from the main recoiling components but there is often an accuracy sacrifice and consistency is the best outcome.

Tolerances will need to be improved and I suspect regular maintenance will be essential. Several small screws threaded into aluminium so both care and loctite recommended. There are maintenance recommendations in the instructions which I will post.

Same cocking effort as the Sig ASP20 rifles and it will be interesting to compare them, price and weight are similar but the ZRS is very different to use, hard to explain, bit weird when the trigger moves backwards after being fired.

I keep getting several very tight shots followed with vertical variations. Artillery hold still appears to work well regardless of the recoil being absorbed in a different manner. The rifle still needs to be able to "do its thing".

I will run some chronograph checks at around 250 pellets and have a good look at the moving parts.

Recoil at the shoulder - None

Gas Ram and Spring Piston for accuracy - I cannot pick the difference.

These recoil free springer rifles interest me.

Especially this one with no recoil at all, or is the Diana totally recoil free as well Pete?

Maybe dumb questions if I'm missing something but I'm a master at the art of asking such questions :-) so...
Does this mean these rifles are not hold fussy like similarly powered recoiling springers?

From my not great springer shooting skills the PCP's main advantage is for me at least is being much easier to shoot accurately...so is recoil free an accuracy game changer for the unskilled? 

Are gas rams easier to shoot accurately for similar reasons?

Gonna put a cheek riser on it?
Whats that about 20mm vertical spread?
How loud is it, compared to the sig or gamo.
Be interesting to see how it settles after couple more hundred rounds.
Taking the flyer out of it seems to hold vertical line well.
Whats the weight like?
Would you consider suitable for hunting weight and noise wise.
Have you run it over a chrono?
Will be interesting to see how it all settles in.

Disappointing start when the lateral screws came loose after 50 very promising shots.
All promptly dealt with, rifle replaced and additional maintenance checks completed on this unit.

Stock arm placement is too low for me and quickly becomes very uncomfortable so will be modified.
Cocking effort is up there.
Look forward to next few weeks and testing at 50 yards.
3 screws associated with trigger, several adjustments but end up back at factory settings.

It is a little different to use and only 100 pellets to date so early days.
Definitely no discernible recoil.

25 yard, bench rest.
H&N FTT 4.53mm 8.64 grain.
ZeroTech 30mm 3-12x44 scope.
Found a use for a modified Gamo riser rail.
Good mid-afternoon conditions.
The first two shots were rather pleasing then reality.

Yellow rubber stop slides in a waisted slot.

The entire action including the trigger mechanism moves
when operated 

I expect the moving mass takes up much of the energy
and the stop mostly limits movement. 

 


sliding key each side and yellow rubber stop
are the only components fixed to the stock-aluminium tube.

From the Norica website, part number 20130103 (fixing bush) looks to be where the movement occurs.

Norica Omnia in .177 calibre, also available in .22.
Picked up from local sports store yesterday, barrel clean and break-in shots complete, dressed with Tasco 3-9x40AO scope.
Looking forward to putting it through its paces.
Zero recoil - confirmed.
