This little Gamo absolutely loves JSB Exact Express 7.87gr.

Ive tried many types of .177 pellets now, and none come close to the express 7.87gr. The pic below was shot at 10m, indoors, and shows a 5 shot group with the 8.44gr exact, which is good, and two groups of 5 shots each with the express 7.87gr. Best group is 5.1mm center to center. Its always a good feeling when you find "The One" pellet that a rifle loves. Now all thats left to do is shoot it and enjoy it

That reminds me, I've got to get one off impliment shed roof I shot yesterday before it taints the water supply. Cheers.

Sparrows might be a better subject for a thread, rather than mice. More accessable for those who want to join in. Just as small, just as flighty, not as likely to show huge holes (feathers are good like that mostly) Longest distance, heighest shot, trickiest set of branches. Etc Have the advantage of being a daytime target and being easy to bait in. You shoot one at 40m then I'm going to bait in at 55m/60m and on it goes. Differnt catagory for tree shot. Keep separate catagories for springer and pcp over 30m. Throw up thread when your sorted if your interested, I'll jump in on it. Get ya son in on it, I'm sure he can takeout the heaviest sparrow or best shot under 30m with a bait station. (as long as dad doesn't out do him) Just thought anyway. |

   Review update...

I've decided to use this little Gamo as a sparow gun, for some garden pest control. I had the chrono out while playing with my other springers so I thought I'd try a few pellets through this one too. Starting with the heaviest I tested, H&N Hunter (Gun City Rabbiter) 10.49gr. Average 377.3fps, ES 10.6, SD 3.6, for 3.3FPE. Humm... ok. Then Gamo 10X hollow point, 7.56gr, average 457fps, ES 27.7, SD 10.1, foe 3.1FPE Not very impressive. The H&N Hunters were much better. Next JSB Exact 8.44gr, Average 460fps, ES 5.4, SD 2.6, for 4.0FPE. Wow, those are nice figures. The exacts were the ones that shot so nicely in previous grouping tests. Lastly I tried the JSB Exact Express, the light little 7.87gr JSBs. Average 481 fps, ES 2.6, SD 1.0, for 4.1 FPE. WOW! Those are seriously nice numbers!!! Next step is to wait for this F***$%#@ rain to clear off so I can try the exacts vs the express for groupings at 10m. I have also bought and fitted a 2-7x32 Wulf scope, which is working very nicely on this lovely little rifle. Once Ive setteled on a pellet, sight it in at 10m and get ready for the sparrows. |

Good on you, I'm glad my 8yr son has started taking an interest too. I used to have a browning youth gun (a broken one from GC which I repaired) and was very accurate. shot so many things with it and missed it after I sold it

I was shooting this little rifle again yesterday, and thought Iβd give a little summary to finish up this review.

This little rifle has been a real pleasure to shoot. It is light weight, very mild shooting, only produces a few fpe, but is really pleasant to shoot. More than accurate enough for a satisfying plinking session, and could be comfortably cocked and shot all day long. Iβd be confident enough to take birds up to myna size out to 20m, and maybe even a rabbit head shot if I could sneak up on one to with in 20m. As a βyouthβ air rifle I think it hits the mark perfectly! π Iβd happily recommend it to anyone wanting an air rifle for a child (supervised of course), or just an easy shooting, light weight, all day little plinker. Gets my thumbs up ππ» Pete. |

Thanks Kruza, Iβll tell him ππ»

It was very nice to have some Dad and Lad time, and very satisfying for me to watch him get that satisfying feeling of hitting what your aiming for ππ» And as you said, it wasnβt too long before I heard βDad, can I try your rifle?β πππ Itβs too big for him to load and too heavy for him to hold, but if I load it and put it on the sticks for him, he hits what ever heβs aiming for πππ». We had great fun exploding apples at 10m with .22 16gr Hades.

Great to see. Spinners make cool sounds when you hit them.

I reckon shooting is one of those skills you treasure for life as you often re discover it and it gives your mind a break from all the rubbish happening in the wotld.

Looks like a happy kid. If he's shooting that well won't be long till that under lever next to him is in his sights.

Good on ya, must be a great feeling to be shooting with your boy! F&<k xbox, quality time teaching a quality skill. Tell him we all said awsome shooting, he's a natural. π |

Took my son out for his first session with his Gamo Delta Fox GT Whisper today, despite the horrible weather.

He loved it and was consistently hitting spinners from 5m to 20m the whole day. At one point he said to me βDad, this spring is really working hey.β I said βWhat do you mean?β He said βThis spring inside my gun, my arms getting sore from cocking itβ πππ I swear he shot through half a tin of 500 JSB exacts! π What I found interesting was that even though I thought I had nipped all the screws up tight, his little 3.8FPE rifle still has enough recoil to loosen the screws on the rings and the scope had shifted back a little! π³

Looking good. Advertised velocity looks around 525fps, so with lighter pellets you should get that. May find the JSB Exact Express work well too being lighter weight. But the grouping you are getting shows its doing just fine! Its a good power level that hes going to enjoy shooting it, he can learn to handle it well and shoot on his own rather than someone cocking it for him if it was a high power gun. Hopefully another airgun fanatic in the making.Nice work

I finally managed to chrony the little Delta Fox GT Whisper today.

It is pushing a 8,44gr JSB exact at 451fps (averaged over 5 shots), with an extreme spread of only 6fps π³, quite impressive. Those figures combined give a whopping total of 3.8ft-lb of energy, so itβs no possum slayer, but then that was never its intended purpose. I bought it for my son, to be his first rifle, so he can learn how to shoot, learn how to shoulder a rifle, learn how to squeeze a trigger, learn how to handle a firearm and hopefully, learn the etiquette of good gun manners. I think it will do just fine π. |

The Hades looks good but id say they are too heavy for the gun. The Exacts look like the perfect pellet for that gun. Groups like that are what keeps shooters enjoying the sport, doesnt matter what the gun is. |

Unfortunately all the shooting sticks have done is eliminate anything but shooter fault for free standing at 10m π

Ja, I believe 10m air rifle and 10m air pistol are Olympic sports.

But I donβt think they would allow me to use my shooting sticks like I did for the above tests π. However they do use those funny stright jackets and gloves that would make Michale Jackson jealous π |
